All the Questions I asked

Final two Question I asked

Page 4: Media audience research

Question 1In the survey of people I asked there is a variation

of gender. The amount of males that answered was 16 and the amount of females were 16 and

people who classed themselves as there we're 3. This means the gender of the people who

answered the questionnaire are quite widely spread. This therefore means that the results taken will be more reliable and have different opinions of different people. Further more the

answers given will greatly impact of the validity of my results and also give a more valid response

which in can adapt and refer to when I am creating my own magazine.

I asked this question because I thought that the gender will affect

the magazine I will be creating. This also will help me choose to

ether target male, female , or both

Question 2 The age range of the people I asked were that 20 people were 16 or younger, 7 were 17-20, 3

were 21-30, 1 was 51-60 and 2 were 71 or older. This shows that the 60% were 16 or younger. Asking the age the participant that answered the questions is important because it shows

which target market I should focus on and which age group is most likely to read music

magazine. Thus the results found that the majority were 16 or younger shows that my

target age should be the youth and that they are the ones most likely to be interested in the music magazine. This also helps me because it

gives me an idea of what the younger participants want to read about because of the questions later in the questionnaire, I now know its mostly what the youth want to read about.

Question 3The question is exactly what I am interested in knowing. Because this therefore will help me know what genre of music to focus on when I

create my own one. As you can see from the graphs the most

popular genre of music is pop with 9 people saying this. The second most popular is dance with 8 people. This gives me an idea of what I

need to focus on and what artist I need to write about to draw the majority in. Asking this

questions means I can now focus on dance and pop, This question is important because it helps

to narrow it down.

Question 4

This question is important to ask because I know the majority of peoples favourite genre

however there favourite artist can be very widely spread. This helps me narrow it down a which specific ones to write about to interest

and entice the readers in.

The most common artist people said was there most popular is Justin Bieber. He has changed the words opinion of him by coming out with a few very good songs. This artist is hot in the music business and is one of the most talked about artist. Therefore he is perfect to talk about which will draw the readers in.

Question 5I asked this question because I

wanted to find out what the proportion of people read and

bought music magazine. The results found are that 20 people said they did not read

music magazine. Only 6 people read music magazine which means this is a specific and

unique market, to make a music magazine popular I need to make it that it appeals to the readers in a fun and exciting way. This

therefore mean that if it becomes popular with people

then the market will grow.

Question 6This question is important because it gives me the information of if people

go to concerts. 13 people said they do go to concerts, which is the majority this means that I can incorporate this

into my magazine, which will appeal to another market of concert goers. This further more gives and appeal to me

because a lot of people are involved in going showing that this is a popular

thing for young people to do, This also could be linked to increasing the

amount of people reading magazines, and appealing to the market of the

people that go to concerts and want to read about them.

Question 7

This questions gave me an idea of what albums people buy, which is important because this gives me an idea of what artists albums I should feature in my magazine. The results gathered show

that 17 people said that they didn't buy albums and 16 people do. This

therefore means that just over 50% of people must access music threw an

alternative to cd albums. This therefore can help me because in another

question asked I said we're to you get your music from so this means that I

should mostly wright about other ways in accessing music. However the

people who said they did buy albums the majority of albums bought were

pop albums meaning that the majority enjoy pop music out of any other genre

of music, thus meaning I should incorporate this genre in my magazine.

Question 8 The importance of this question is that it tells me how the 33 people I asked

access music. In the answers gathered the majority which is 18 people access music threw iTunes. The second most popular is Spotify this therefore will have an impact on what is hot in the music charts for example or what is

the best place to get music. Therefore this appeals more to the market of my

readers. By asking this question this also means I can see that most people because they use iTunes spend money

on music, thus means that they will spend money on music so they will

most likely spend money on magazine. This further more links to the next

question about how much they spend on average on magazine.

Page 12: Media audience research

Question 9

This links to question 8, asking this question will give me an idea of how much people

are willing to spend on a music. This links to the amount they will spend on a music magazine. This will help me to decide if I should provide a good quality magazine which will appeal to the middle class on

high income or create a magazine that will appeal to the lower class and people on

lower income. Thus the outcome was the majority said they would spend between £3-£6 on a magazine showing that people will

spend money on the right product. This therefore means this will help me

implement the correct price, that the customers are willing to buy.

Question 10 This question indicates what certain people want to read about. This helps me to write about what people want to read about. This

therefore makes the reader more interested in the magazine

especially if I write about what they want. The most popular of 10 people want is hottest music. This will give me an idea of features to put in and furthermore will make

me develop the best magazine and the most effective and popular magazine that people will enjoy

and buy.

Page 14: Media audience research

What all the questions asked help me to learn about my readers are that they all want a high quality magazine that is different and fun. The age question is important because it will

help me implement and decide if my magazine is going to be for the younger target audience, which means i will need more colour and make the

Magazine overall feeling look younger.look

However because most of my audience researchers are of the age of 16 I think I am going to add an element of childishness in my magazine however because they are 16 years old I believe they are maturing and want to act older than they actual are. This therefore means I will have a more mature magazine that will reflect what the readers want. With the gender question I thought this was important to find out which gender may listen to music more. I think even though there is more males than females, I believe by focusing on one gender that focusing on the female sex will benefit my magazine more because this means that I can have a set colour scheme and I don't have to worry about getting the balance right, about having a to masculine or to feminine magazine, Also the majority genre of music

most listened to and liked is pop music. There are more pop music magazine that are based on girls which suggest that girls are the gender that most likely listen to pop music so i

believe if i have a female based gender anD a pop music genre, I am catering to the majority vote and I am also will be creating a minority magazine because it will not be

based for the male sex to read. By doing this I know that it will exclude a big proportion of customers however by doing this it means I can focus on the magazine more and make it suitable for my target market. Finally in question 10 the answers given by the participants suggest that they want gossip, interviews and whats the hottest music, all three things fall in to the category of what females read in other magazine that already exist. This is why I want to create a unique magazine that is different to all the other existing magazines. I am

going to do a magazine that its hottest story is that a one of the biggest girl bands are splitting. This incorporates all three of what the audience have told me. The interviews will be of all the girls in the band, the hottest music part will be that they are braking up but

they are going to release solo and duo singles, and the gossip will Be ; Why the band split. This therefore includes everything that the audience want.
