Most of the answers to the first question related to that way Indie music magazines present their artists and the styles of their covers. It seems that that the front cover is the whole magazines statement piece, and greatly effect the audience and if they will read it or not. The photography also holds a great effect; what kind of photo, and style of picture also influences the audience.

Just under half of the responses chose that a coloured foreground brought out a greater effect of the artist. Filters were the next most chosen as it’s seen as a signature indie style to have a ordinary picture, than layer lots of filters on top in order to give it meaning and have a greater effect on the audience that see it.

It was also suggested that a strong feature colour, red was suggested, would be important to indie magazines as it helps to catch the eye faster.

For the third question, I collected that other artists featured within magazines are normally over looked until the magazine is open, 6 out of the 15 people that took my survey said that they only sometimes look to see who else the magazine will include, if the cover artists doesn’t necessarily appeal to them, while the next highest vote said that they hardly ever even look at the other artists.

With my last question, over half of the participants said that multicolour’s work best with the Indie genre, as there are so many different types to account for.The next best answer was 2 feature colours as Indie music can’t really be represented by just one colour.

There was even a response that suggested holi powder would be a good example of getting colour to give off a strong expression.
