Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
On behalf of the organising committee of this evening’s event, I would like to extend my warmest welcome to the MECCA & SAS Fundraising Dinner.
All praise and thanks are due to Allah (swt) who gave us the opportunity to conduct this fundraising dinner to build the masjid. MECCA is established on the 3rd of November 2009 specially to set up a masjid that caters to the needs of the Victorian Muslim community. The role of the masjid in the 21st century, in this day and age is as important as it was in the time of our Prophet Muhammad (saw). The masjid exists not only to fulfill the spiritual needs of a Muslim but also to serve as a centre of social, educational and cultural activities for Muslims and the wider community.
This is a great opportunity to give for the sake of Allah (swt). As mentioned in an authentic hadith by Prophet Muhammad (saw), your donation to build the House of Allah is a sadaqah jariah (continuous charity), meaning the reward will continue to reach the donor even after death.
Finally, I would like to express my special thanks to SAS Melbourne for their willingness to co-organise this dinner. Many thanks also to all our sponsors, supporters and volunteers who have contributed and assisted us immensely to make this event a success. May Allah (swt) shower His blessing upon us and accept our efforts in building a masjid for His sake and the betterment of the Ummah. Ameen.
Abdul Hamid

Message fromthe Vice President, SAS Melbourne
Assalamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
On behalf of SAS Melbourne Inc., we wish to welcome everyone to tonight’s Fundraising Dinner.
SAS is an Indonesian community organisation which exists to cater for community, social, religious, sports and cultural activities. Recently SAS has been active in various multicultural activities, some of these include participation in Festival Indonesia, Australia Day, Migrant Hub KulcherFood Festival, Moomba Festival, Fiesta Malaysia and Geelong PakoFestival.
It is an honour for us to be part of tonight’s event working alongside MECCA to assist in InsyaAllah realising the dream of building a masjid for the Victorian Muslim community. We hope that the building of this masjid will enhance our faith and the teachings of Islam. In addition to this, it is also important to note that a masjid can also be used to cater for various other beneficial social and cultural activities. By practicing this, we hope that the Malay community will be able to significantly contribute socially and culturally to Australia’s diverse multicultural society.
SAS hopes and wishes that tonight’s programme will run smoothly. We sincerely thank you for your participation, generous donations and wonderful support for our Fundraising Dinner. May Allah bless us all… Ameen.

Assalaamu’alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
I would like to congratulate MECCA for their contributions on this noble cause. By establishing a masjid, you are by no doubt embracing the Muslim community and are offering them an opportunity to preserve and enhance their faith. These most important institutions can also help guide our youth, strengthen family ties and act as a focal point in the promotion of cultural activities within the multicultural Australian society.
It is encouraging to know that corporations like MECCA are here to help carry the burden that faces us all. With no other intention but to please and serve Allah, I hope these institutions will exist for generations to come. I pray to Allah on behalf of all these corporations and ask for both strength and guidance.
I hope it is a successful fundraising dinner and look forward to future joint events.

Kelab UMNO Australia Melbourne (KUAM) is a non-profit, social and welfare club that is run and led by Malays and aims to foster closer ties within the community. In 2007, the catchphrase KUAMuniti was invented and finally implemented in 2009; expanding on the abbreviation of KUAM to a catchphrase of sorts, thus adding value to the branding of the club. The aim was to increase the appeal of KUAM, by making it fresh, new and appealing to another generation.
KUAM has been a strong presence in the Melbourne community, and has added to the vibrancy of the social and academic scene through the range of events organised by the club. KUAM has also worked hand-in-hand with other organizations in other events for the betterment of the community.
