“Measure S goes too far and hurts our community.
It will raise housing costs, stop economic development
and revitalization in our community, and destroy tens of
thousands of good-paying jobs every year.
Join me and many other leaders in saying NO on S.”– L.A. City Council President
Herb Wesson
Just last year, community leaders like Council President Herb Wesson,
Mayor Eric Garcetti, Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson, and
many others fought for reforms to reduce homelessness and increase
affordable housing. Measure S will block these reforms and make
homelessness and our housing crisis worse.
Measure S blocks 90% of planned
housing for the homeless.
Council President Herb Wesson, the L.A. Sentinel, and community leaders all oppose Measure S:
Raises Housing Costs and RentsMeasure S raises housing costs and rents, costing renters an additional $10.6 million every year [1]
Bans Housing – including much needed Affordable HousingMeasure S bans virtually all new housing, including voter-approved measures to force developers to build more affordable housing and 90% of the city’s planned permanent housing for the homeless [2]
Destroys Jobs and Eliminates Wages Measure S destroys 12,000 good-paying jobs and eliminates $640 million in wages every year [3]
