This fishing package is suitable for the adventure seeker and serious environmentalist seeking the unspoilt beauty of the Transkei Wild Coast. Fishing here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience which will yield between 3 – 5 days of fishing the big stuff.

Mazeppa Bay is best known for its abundance in size and yield of predatory fish around May to August. Catches of over 200kgs are the norm and competitive fisherman find themselves pushing the limits for a catch of 280kg to 350kg.

A trip like this is far more than just the fishing its about soaking up the environment you are in. Transkei still has plenty unspoilt beauty and living off some fresh ocean starters is just one more bonus.

Accommodation is rustic but with a beautiful view, warm water, plenty fridges and feezers a big braai place and a mountain of memories.

Why we chose May? May provides very stable weather patterns and an awesome variety of species. Close enough to the peak of the sardine run to encounter the mammoth Dusky sharks but also close enough to summer to find incredible catches of other sport shark species such a Bull sharks, bronze whalers, blacktips and possibly even Tiger sharks. The options of spinning with articficials and targeting other edible fish are also on the table during this period although not the main focus.
