Quickmail – email messages get sent to the email address in your profile

People – participants can see who is in the course

Messages – send instant messages to your students

Online Users – see who is online at the time

Forums – a place for on-going discussion

Chat – have real-time chat sessions…i.e., Virtual Office Hours

Quickmail allows students and teachers to “send” out email

messages from within Moodle. The email messages will be

sent to the email address that you have in your Moodle profile

The People block shows all the participants that are in the

course and any information that is in their profile and date and

time of their “Last Access”

Messages allows you to send “instant” messages to

participants and works in conjunction with Online Users.

Online Users lets you know who is online and then you can use

Forums allows you to have on-going “asynchronous” (on your

own time) discussion in a threaded manner

Chat allows you to have “synchronous” (real-time)

conversations with participants…for example…Virtual Office

The Files area in Moodle is similar to the My Documents area on yourcomputer.

You can create folders and subfolders to upload your files and documents.

Using the “Resources” tool in Moodle you can:

Using the “Activities” tool in Moodle you can add:

Assignments– Advanced uploading of files (Multiple files plus notes)– Online Text– Upload a single file– Offline

Quizzes– Multiple Choice/Matching/T or F/Short Answer/Essay

Glossary– Teacher Defined– Learner Defined

Type your “Username” and “Password” and click “Login” button
