Week by Week through The Year of Mercy

Announcing the Jubilee Y ear of Mercy, Pop Francis challenged us to

proclaim God’s mercy “to everyone without exception...again and

again, with new enthusiasm and renewed pastoral ac-

tion” (Misericordiae Vultus, 12) Pentecost proclaims that the door

locked for fifty days is thrown open at last. No longer closed in on

itself, the community speaks to crowds from different back-

grounds, distant lands, exotic languages. Everyone hears their

native language. The Spirit does not restore Babel’s uni-

formity, but forges unity-in-diversity of language, race,

nationality—embracing all without exception. During this

Jubilee year of Mercy, Pentecost’s Spirit summons us

afresh from mediocrity and isolation to share God’s

mercy with the world. “This is our mission!” Francis

exclaims. We are “given the gift of the ‘tongue’ of the

Gospel and the ‘fire’ of the Holy Spirit, so that while

we proclaim Jesus risen, living and present in our midst,

we may warm… the heart of the peoples, drawing near to

Him, the way, the truth, and the life” — (Regina Coeli ad-

proclamemos la misericordia de Dios "a todo el mundo sin excepción ...

una y otra vez, con nuevo entusiasmo y la acción pastoral renova-

da" (Misericordiae Vultus, 12) Pentecostés proclama que la puerta cerra-

da durante cincuenta días se abrieron al fin. Ya no encerrarse en sí mis-

ma, la comunidad de habla a la multitud de diferentes orígenes,

tierras distantes, lenguas exóticas. Todo el mundo escucha su

lengua materna. El Espíritu no restaura la uniformidad de

Babel, pero forja la unidad en la diversidad de la lengua, la

raza, la nacionalidad abarca todos sin excepción. Durante

este año jubilar de la Merced, el Espíritu de Pentecostés

nos convoca de nuevo desde la mediocridad y el aislam-

iento de compartir la misericordia de Dios con el mundo.

Guamanian Dinner Queen of Angel’s Annual Guamanian Dinner Fest will be

held on Saturday, May 21, 2016 following the 5:00 p.m.

Mass. Tickets will be available after weekend Masses and

at the rectory. Adults $10.00, children under 10 years of

age $7.00 Ticket sale deadline is Wednesday, May 18th.

Tickets will not be available at the door, so get yours early.

No take out dinners!

There will be a Ministry Fair at the Queen of Angels Par-

ish Hall, on June 4th after the 5:00p.m. Mass, and on June

5th after the 8:00a.m. & 10:00a.m. Masses and 12:00p.m.

Introducion a la Liturgia del Dia:

En este ultimo domingo del tiempo de Pascua cele-

bramos lo que muchos han llamado el “cumpleaños

de la Iglesia” . Oremos hoy para que la promesa

cumplida de su nacimiento siga viva en nosotros

con la gracia de Dios y estemos conscientes de los

movimientos del Espíritu Santo en nuestra vida.

Cena Guamanian:

La Iglesia Queen of Angels tendra su cena annual. Se

llevará a cabo el sábado 21 de Mayo, tras la misa 5:00pm.

Los boletos de entradas estarán disponibles después de las

misas de fin de semana y en la rectoría. Adultos $10,

niños menores de 10 años $7 los boletos no estarán dis-

ponibles en la puerta, así que consiga el suyo antes de
