We congratulate the students pictured above for their outstanding work at OCHS! They were nominated by teachers and staff because of

great work and good attitudes. They received T-shirts and Subway gift cards compliments of the OCHS Youth Services Center. Names of

these students are not listed because of internet safety regulations.

Bruce Raley

I graduated from OCHS in 1974 and attended Murray State

University on a football scholarship from 1974-1979. I have a

BS degree from Murray and Master and Rank I degrees from

Western KY University.

After college, I returned to OCHS in the fall of 1979 as PE

teacher and football coach. I coached football until 1990. I

currently teach PE, Team and Individual Sports, and Speed

Strength and Conditioning.

One of the intangible pleasures of my job, after 35 years at

OCHS as a student, teacher, and coach is seeing my former

friends and students succeed in life and knowing that I had a

small part in their lives.

I am pretty much a sports junkie (after coaching football at

OCHS, Owensboro and Mclean Co. High Schools for 28 Years)

so I watch a lot of different sports mainly on TV or at the High

School level.

School will be in session on Monday, February 17. We

were originally scheduled to be off for Presidents’ Day,

but will use this as a make-up day.

Dance Team

The OCHS Dance Team brought home three first place trophies in Hip Hop, Pom and Open Category at the KDCO Dance

Competition. Congratulation team members!

Volunteer Opportunity for Students

Western Elementary is hosting an Academic Meet on

Saturday, March 1 and needs a few high school students to

help with the event from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Students will

receive DOUBLE volunteer credit for helping with this!!

Please encourage your children to sign up with Ms. Bevil to

help with this event.
