TÜV NORD GROUP Materials Technology Material and Acceptance Testing Materials are almost always subjected to considerable loads when they are used in their practical applications. Without regular testing, this can lead to undesirable consequences: corrosion, wear, fatigue and other defects have a considerable impact on material characteristics and therefore on component safety. TÜV NORD helps to reduce these risks with its material and acceptance testing. If manufacturing methods are unsuitable, the quality of the materials is not sufficient or specific requirements are not met, component failure in use is often inevitable. Damage reports often cost more than early assessment of the manufacturer qualification, manufacturing methods and the product. We perform material acceptance procedures according to all German and international standards and specific customer specifications; the results are documented in an Inspection Certificate 3.2 according to EN 10204. In order to ensure the traceability of semi-finished products, we undertake transfer of identification (re-stamping) and inspect the re-stamping process on site at finishing and trading companies. Our specialists have many years of experience and wide- ranging expertise in the area of materials technology. By performing independent acceptance inspection and providing proofs of material compliance, we make a long- term contribution to operational safety and plant availability.
