Hello to everyone, my name is Jesus Gonzalez I am twenty-five years old and from Northeastern Nevada. I was born and raised in Elko Nevada, where both of my parents still live. Both my parents are from Zacatecas, Mexico so they raised me in a primarily Spanish speaking household. In my family I have an older sister and a younger brother. For the last five years I had been studying at Mount Angel Seminary where received my BA in philosophy and then continued into the graduate program for Theological Studies. After leaving Mount Angel I spent the last year working closely with my home parish and the Diocese of Reno to implement “V Encuentro.” I was able to attend the regional convention and soon I will be traveling to the national convention. I am thankful to be there representing the community of St. Paul’s and I am excited to bring back many great ideas to help our community even better. It’s a blessing to be able to serve you all as Youth minister and Hispanic coordinator. Hope to meet you all soon Jesus Gonzalez

Hola a todos, mi nombre es Jesús González, tengo veinticinco años y soy del noreste de Nevada. Nací y crecí en Elko Nevada, donde aún viven mis padres. Mis padres son de Zacatecas, México, así que me criaron en un hogar en que habla principalmente español. En mi familia tengo una hermana mayor y un hermano menor. Durante los últimos cinco años estuve estudiando en Mount Angel Seminary donde recibí mi BA en filosofía y luego continué en el programa para mi Segundo titulo de Estudios Teológicos. Después de dejar Mount Angel pasé el último año trabajando cercanmente con mi parroquia y la Diócesis de Reno para implementar el "V Encuentro". Pude asistir a la convención regional y pronto viajaré a la convención nacional. Estoy agradecido de estar allí representando a la comunidad de St. Paul's y estoy emocionado de traer de trajere muchas ideas para ayudar a nuestra comunidad. On June 30 and July 1 St. Paul’s will be bidding “Goodbye” to Father Basil and welcoming our new

Priest, Father Tetsel Umingli.

There will be three opportunities for parish members to bid farewell and greet!

Saturday, June 30 at 6pm in the Parish Hall for appetizers and wine (adults) or ice cream, and cookies (children)

Sunday July 1, 9 am in the Parish Hall for breakfast pastries, fruit and coffee. Sunday July 1, 11 am in the Hall for homemade pastries, Mexican pastries, fruit, coffee &

juice.

This is everyone’s opportunity to give Father Basil a warm THANK YOU for his ministry here the past three years and helping us to finally have the Narthex we have been waiting for! Let’s all give

him a memorable send-off for his next assignment as a Navy Chaplain in September.

This is also a great opportunity to welcome Father Tetzel Umingli as our new Parish Administrator. He is a priest of the Archdiocese of Portland, and a graduate of Mount Angel

Seminary. His most recent parish assignment has been at St. Anne Parish in Grants Pass.

Peter’s Pence is a second collection for next weekend June 30. This

collections is taken every year to go directly to the charities that the Pope

also gives to as well. We will be passing out envelopes that can be

used to place donations into.
