Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that
I have commanded you. (Matthew 28: 19-20)
Elise Victoria Bonastia, Jack Peter Doench,
Elle McKeown McNally who were baptized October 1, 2017
For the reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being must separate. (Matthew 19:5-6)

Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time October 8 ,2017
May God Bless our Confirmation candidates who were confirmed by the Most Rev. Arthur J. Serratelli, J.C.D., D.D. this past Tuesday evening, October 3. This is a great milestone in your faith journey. Your journey became a reality through the dedication of our entire parish community uniting young people, adults, and clergy by ministering to each other through praying, sharing, listening, questioning, discovering and celebrating together. Confirmation does not conclude your religious education but rather draws you into full participation in the life of our church. I challenge each of you to be open to following the lead of the Holy Spirit in your life and contribute your gifts and talents to our parish and church….“Go Make a Difference!”

Welcoming Ministry Focus Group Sessions
“May the church be the place of God’s mercy and love, where everyone can feel themselves welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged to live according to the good life of the Gospel. And in order to make others feel welcomed, loved, forgiven and encouraged, the church must have open doors so that all might enter. And we must go out of those doors and proclaim the Gospel.”
-Pope Francis continuing a series of meditations on the church June 12, 2013
With his “theology of the open door”, Pope Francis has been called the “Pope of Hospitality”, having brought new life into the church by encouraging us to “open our doors” and share the love of Jesus Christ to all. To help fulfill that mission at St. Vincent Martyr, the Welcoming Ministry is being reorganized into three groups: New Parishioners, Liturgical Life, and Cultural Hospitality on our Campus including Communications and Technology. Before launching those groups, we will be holding two focus groups, where you will be able to share your “glads” and “sads” - what we are doing well along with opportunities for improvement.
Session 1: Wednesday, October 11 @ 7:30 PM
Session 2: Sunday, October 15 @ 2:00 PM
Location: Ministry Center - St. Peter’s Room If you feel the call to follow the Pope’s mission and would like to serve on this ministry, be sure to attend one of
the two sessions and RSVP your name, session number, phone number and email address to Lenore Luckey, 973-822-2916 or [email protected] by October 9.

Cornerstone is a simple idea, but its impact has been profound.
Come See for Yourself.
Registration is now open for our Fall Cornerstone: Nov. 3 -4, 2017
Space is limited! So don’t wait too long. What are your parish women saying about their
Cornerstone Experience?
Last year I had the opportunity to experience the Woman's Cornerstone retreat at St Vincent's. I was able to actually take some time for myself and to refresh my
relationship with God. As a result I feel that my spirituality has been renewed and I've met some amazing women in the parish along the way. Lorraine Figarelli
I knew when I signed up for Cornerstone; I was not going to talk much. I was not pressured to talk, but if I felt like talking I knew it was confidential. No one was there to
judge you. It was the most amazing, fulfilling 26 hrs spent with wonderful ladies. Stacey Dooley
Do come to corner stone - It was a heartwarming, loving
and caring experience. One I will never forget. Fran Mantone

ASSISTANCE NEEDED
My name is Sean Needham. I’m a 26 year old student at Montclair State University (MSU) and I have Cerebral Palsy (CP). I’m a very motivated person who wants to get the most out of life. I am looking for someone to be a self-hire employee to assist me 20 hours per week @$17 per hour. I’m looking for someone who is at least 25 years old with a good driving record (Much of the support I need is transportation to and from medical appointments and recreational events/activities). I will require you to have a background check. I’m looking for someone who is able and willing to help me with transitioning from directed dependent care to full independence. I need someone who can teach and support me through the process of becoming independent. I like working with people who are patient and have a good sense of humor. I direct my own care (i.e. let me tell you what I need…do not assume I need help). Some days I have more mobility than others. This job will require physical, emotional and mental patience as I learn to care for myself and become more independent. I need assistance with lifting me as well as driving my power chair in and out of the car. I need someone to supervise me as I transfer in and out of the shower, I can wash myself. However, I do need help drying my feet and legs as well as dressing my lower body. I will also need others to perform household duties like walking my dog (I have a German shepherd), doing my laundry and taking out trash etc. I am able to do a lot of meal preparation by myself and it is important that I am able to do this. As part of me increasing my independence, I will be attending occupational and physical therapy appointments. I will want those assisting me to be sitting in on my OT and PT appointments so they can help me practice what I’ve been taught. It is most important for me to find someone who values my independence as much as I do. Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you. If you are interested in the position, please contact me at 973-975-5003.

XXVII Domingo del Tiempo
Ordinario
Primera Lectura: Is 5, 1-7
a) Isaías:
Cf. Leáse: Is cap. 1; 3; 5; 10.
Cf. Léase: Is cap. 28; 29; 31.
Cf. Léase: Is 3, 16; 5, 19; 22, 9; 30, 1; 2, 6; 5, 8-24.
Cf. Léase: Is 4, 2-3; 8,8; cap. 7, 9 y 11; cap. 42, 49-53.
