C e l e b r a t i n g t h e F e a s t o f S t . F r a n c i s o f A s s i s i Thursday, October 3, 2013 Time: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm Description: As St. Francis began his conversion process he was praying at the abandon church of San Damiano in the outskirts of Assisi. At first Francis thought a voice was telling him to re-construct the physical building, in time, Francis knew that the voice that spoke to him from the Crucifix was telling him something much more important. Francis was to be the instrument God chose to restructure and renew the Church. Every year Franciscans throughout the world gather in the evening on October 3rd to mark the transitus or the “passing of Francis from this life into eternity.” You are invited to celebrate with us this year and to look at how relevant the message from the crucifix is for us today. The evening will begin at 5:00 pm with dinner and the presentation will begin at 6:30 pm; followed by the traditional prayer service (transitus) at 8:00 pm. Presenter: Fr. David Moczulski, OFM Offering: $20.00 w/dinner $10.00 for a 6:30 pm arrival Call to Register

What expectations do we have this Advent? Are we waiting to once again experience the mystery of the Incarnation of God becoming human? This evening we will look at how the Christmas mystery can help us in our life of waiting and expecting.

Eucharistic Liturgy is celebrated daily. Please bring your Bible and notebook. The “Encounter with Silence” retreat is an adventure in contemplation. The retreat offers a time of exploration, evaluation, and interruption to your ordinary pattern of life - disengaging you from the regular round of respectable human activities. According to Dorothy Day, her Encounter with Silence retreat experience was “like hearing the Gospel for the first time.” Presenter: Fr. John-Mary Tompkins, OSB Offering: $375.00 Registration Requested

C o n f e r e n c e R e t r e a t ( S i l e n t ) June 22 - 28, 2014 Time: Begins Sunday, June 22nd at 7:00 pm and ends the following Saturday with Lunch Theme: Praying the Psalms. In the early hours of the morning you speak to me; in darkness of the night you are with me. Description: Reaching across time and faiths, the psalms of the Hebrew Scripture speak to us of God’s ever abiding presence in our life. Works of poetry and reflections of daily life with the joys and struggles that we all face, the psalms guide us to a deeper relationship with our living God. During this week of retreat we will look at the psalms as our guide in prayer. Those of us who pray the Liturgy of the Hours are familiar with the routine and tenderness with which God speaks to us through these prayers. As we walk through the week together we will look at various translations and interpretations of the psalms. Presenter: Fr. David Moczulski, OFM Offering: $375.00 Registration Requested by June 6th

While both Matthew and Luke present Jesus as teaching a prayer form, when we look into this well known formula we find much more than the prayer we memorized as children. Jesus is also offering his disciples a world view, how they are to comprehend God, themselves, and all creation. In viewing the Lord’s Prayer this way we come to understand better Jesus, his mission, and our own. Presenter: Fr. Bernard Tickerhoof, TOR

This evening on the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe we will look at our devotion to Mary—tracing devotion throughout the ages and seeing how we today see her as our guide to Jesus.
