Martha was born March 19, 1926, the daughter of Ray and Anna Pauline (Scott) Bird, in Fulton County, IL. She attended Galesburg High School and San Pedro High School, in California. On June 2, 1944, Martha married George E. Hatch, in Galesburg, IL. He preceded her in death in 1993. She was previously employed at Royal Neighbors of America and remained until her retirement. She attended First United Methodist Church, Geneseo. She was a member of Valley Chapter 274 of the Eastern Star, Rock Island County Genealogical Society, United Methodist Women, Circle of Friends, Royal Neighbors Social Club, and Royal Neighbors Retirees.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Brianna (David) Mallum, Geneseo, and Grant (Sue) Hatch, Colona; grandchildren, Marta and Tom Timbrook, Mathew and Jennifer Mallum; great-grandchildren, Colin, Aidan, and Isabella McConville, Corinne, Clara, and Cayson Mallum, Steven and Skylar Timbrook: sisters, Nancy Murrell, Roseville, IL, Sharon Lance, Rock Island, Linda Bloomfield, Keokuk, IA.
