JobDescription:We are looking for a Marketing & Community Outreach Manager who is apassionate story-tellerwith a heart for education and the communications, socialmedia,andvolunteeroutreachskillstobackitup.YouwillbeavitalpartofoursmallbutmightyteaminCanada,reportingtotheExecutiveDirector.YouwillbeachampionforSchoolBOX,implementingourannualmarketingandcommunicationsplanusingexemplarywrittencommunicationskillsacrossavarietyofmediaplatforms.YourjobistotelltheSchoolBOXstorytoournationalandinternationalcommunityofvolunteers,donors,andsupportersinordertokeepthemengagedandactiveinsupportingSchoolBOX’smissioninNicaragua.Youwillalsomanageourinternationalvolunteerprogram.Youwillfacilitatetripregistrationandpre-departureplanning,andprovidefundraisingsupportforallofourvolunteerstravellingtoNicaragua.Weexpectyoutobeofexemplarycharacter,thriveinanindependentworkenvironment,andbepassionateaboutthecauseofglobaleducation.Sinceyoumustbeabletoworkcross-culturallywithourNicaraguanteam,acommandoftheSpanishlanguageorawillingnesstolearnisanasset.
Tobesuccessful,you’llneedthesequalifications:• Marketing:Marketingandpublicrelationsexperience,preferablywithafocus
oninternationaldevelopmentorthecharitablesector.Abilitytodevelopandimplementamarketing&communicationsplanincludingtraditionalmediaoutreach,socialmedia,andinternalandexternalcommunicationmaterials.Abilitytocreateexemplaryandon-brandwrittenmaterialsincluding:websitenewsitems,e-newslettercontent,printnewsletters,mediareleases,brochures,donorimpactreports,projectproposals&grantapplications.
• SharedValues:DemonstratedcommitmenttoourSchoolBOXmissionandsharedvalues.Theseincludetheloveofchildren,beliefthateducationisthekeyforallchildrenreachtotheirpotential,strengthofglobalcommunity,importanceofaccountabilityforeverydollar,couragetotakemanagedrisksandreachthosewhoneedusmost,andamindsetforsustainability.
• CommunityOutreach:Abilitytoprovidecommunicationsandlogistical
supporttolocalvolunteerstoraiseawarenessandfundsforSchoolBOXthroughcommunityevents,at-homeevents,andword-of-mouth.Abilitytocultivatenewpartnershipswithdonors,businessesandotherorganizationsthatgenerateawarenessandrevenueforSchoolBOX.Greatpeopleskillsareessential.
• Education:Bachelordegreeinmarketing,communications,international
developmentorequivalentexperience.
• Technology:Experiencemaintainingastrongpresenceandengagedaudience
acrossmultiplesocialmediaplatformsincludingFacebook,Twitter,andInstagram.WorkingknowledgeofWordPress,MailChimp,andAdobeInDesign.ProficiencyacrossMicrosoftprogramsincludingWord,ExcelandPowerPoint.Graphicdesignskillsanimportantasset.WorkingknowledgeofSalesforceisanasset,butnotarequirement.
• Language&Culture:Oralandwrittenstory-tellingskillsarecriticalinEnglish.
Experienceworkinginmulti-national,cross-cultural,andbi-lingualteamsispreferred.Spanishcommunications
