About Nanotechnology Ceracoat™ Ceramic

Ceracoat™ is an exceptional, truly remarkable, multi award winning technology which allows the end user to protect both industrial and domestic surfaces with ultra-thin super durable coating of invisible, easy to clean, glass.

In essence the technology allows the end user to deposit a nano scale layer of molecular, particle free glass (100,00 times thinner than a human hair), onto the surface of most items. The molecules of glass come from pure quartz sand, of which there are vast reserves, as silicon dioxide is one of the most abundant compounds on the planet. Just like domestic glass the coatings are chemically inert and highly resistant to commonly used cleaning chemicals. The coatings also o�er resistance to alkalis, acids and solvents; however, despite some similarities to standard glass the Ceracoat™ coatings are stunningly di�erent. The layer is �exible, breathable, highly durable, heat tolerant, anti-microbial and o�ers non-stick and “easy clean” characteristics. The application of the Ceracoat™ range of products is amazingly straight forward. After preparatory cleaning, items such as wash basins, windscreens, and fabrics can be coated in a matter of seconds. Signi�cantly most coated surfaces can be cleaned with water alone, this of course massively reduces the use of environmentally damaging cleaning products.

Ceracoat™ is a company dedicated to the development of nanotechnology that both protects your world and makes your life easier. Before meeting a NASA engineer who worked on the front ceramic portion of Space Shuttles, Dr. Elio Keller created the "washing facilities" car venture with Shell in France, Germany and Italy. This venture was due to Dr. Keller's passion and love for cars and motorsports. Dr. Keller came up with the idea of creating a ceramic coating for engines.

The current process involved removing the engine from the Formula 1 race car, coating each individual piece, reassem-bling and reinstalling, which is an incredibly cost prohibitive option. At that period in time there was no limit on the budget for Formula 1 race cars.

The idea was to create a liquid that could be added (as an additive) to the oil and then automatically cover the metal parts of the engine with a ceramic coating, reducing the cost of the process to something the average consumer could easily a�ord. This would greatly reduce friction, improve the gas mileage and extend the life of the engine.

In 1988 the product was born, and since it is a ceramic coating the Ceracoat™ name was legally registered. Today, Ceracoat™ has about 100 applications for consumers and about 250 for industry with a total of about 350 di�erent applications.

Since the inception of the company, Ceracoat™ has main-tained a special laboratory for researching nanotechnology and its capabilities for covering and protect-ing almost every surface and a manufacturing plant in Kuwait.

Unlike our standard coating for stone (which is a water based topographical coating) this coating is designed to penetrate deep into the structure of the stone. After it has become established in the stone it provides massive protection against abrasion, and water ingress.Specifi cally developed for mineral based surfaces such as sandstone, limestone, travertine, concrete, pavers and brickwork.

The coating will remain highly e�ective for at least 10-20 years. This coating can be used on fl oors.It is primarily designed as an anti-weathering coating for stone which signifi cantly impedes and water ingress. On some stone (normally dense stone such as marble and granite) the coating o�ers additional stain resistant characteristics. Testing is always recommended before large scale application. It should not be applied to wet or moist stone. Optimum performance is established after drying for 24hrs at approximately 20C°.

Permanent Protector (e.g. Corrosion Protection)

This is a highly advanced SiO² coating which was created to address the needs of the marine, military and aerospace sectors. It is massively resistant to corrosion, abrasion and temperature. It can be applied to metal, plastic, powder coated and painted substrates. The coating can be heat cured, or cured at ambient temperature. Ceracoat™ Metal Permanent reacts with the substrates surface and forms an abrasion resistant coating with very high bonding properties on metal. It generates thin, transparent coatings with high impact strength and is resistant to alkali, abrasion and corrosion.

This coating can be used on fl ooring and marine decking. It is suitable for all kinds of wood which has not previously been coated with varnish or other stain resistant additives. It will not alter the natural look of wooden surfaces, yet it provides a highly durable timber coating which protects the wood from water ingress, salts, mould and algae. The coating will also reduce the rate of discoloration due to oxidation.

Surfaces that shall be coated have to befree of dirt, dust and grease. Residue ofsilicone have to be removed by anadapted cleaner before application. Onall even, polished and shining surfacesthe application occures with the estab-lished HVLP-technique.

On absorbing, raw and porous surfacesthe liquid can also be sprayed, paintedor rolled. Applications with dipping-technique are possible as well. In thiscase pay attention that the recom-mended application quantities will bekept.

The exact application quantitiy dependson environmental conditions as thereare wind, tools, temperature and hu-midity. In case of exceeding the recom-mended maximum of coating theapplication might leave a visible lightgrey film on the surface.
