EO capacity for Agriculture and Forest

Management in Africa as a contribution

to GEOSS

17 partners from 12 different

countries

Funded by the EC FP7 programme

October 2011 to March 2015

Ulg contribution: WP 3.2 on

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

Global Objective: Developing increased EO capacity for better

agriculture and forestry management in Africa

Objective of “livestock systems” WP: develop fodder biomass

production models using remote sensing data in Africa (Senegal,

Niger, Kenya + Global use case)

Capacity building:

3 PhD students and 1 post-doc

8 workshops for a total of 115 people

trained

Contribution to the improvement of

models of fodder biomass yield and

production assessment aimed mainly
