How I WorkFirst, I set clear goals, then dont censor myself.
Ill do that later. All ideas are welcome at this point, even (and sometimes especially) the crazy ones.
Now combine design with a concept which communicates the brand. Good design is pretty, but good design based on a solid concept will help make your sites/products/services much more effec-tive and memorable, especially when compared to the competition.
Moreover, better design is created when the medium is understood. I know what the technolo-gies are and how theyre used.
So, it always gains me the respect of my team when they realize that Im not working in a vacuum, and it will help me think up realistic ideas.
Who are the users of this 'thing'?
What are the users tasks and goals?
What are the users experience levels with this thing, and things like it?
What functions do the users need from this thing?
What information might the users need, and in what form do they need it?
How do users think this 'thing' should work?
How can the design of this thing facilitate users' cognitive pro-cesses?
