What is Baughman UMCs future direction?

Most of what has happened at Baughman UMC over the past seven yearsunder the leadership of Brand Eaton and Win Green has been to repairthe church's foundations. Much of that work is now accomplished. Todaywe enjoy:

    1. A new Staff2. A new Sanctuary3. A new Education Wing.

    4. A new (streamlined) administration5. A new financial strength6. A new worshiping community (9:45am... most everyone there is new)7. A new Children's ministry8. A new Youth Ministry9. A new Bell Choir & children's choir10.A new parking lot

Weve made excellent progress! NOW its time to move from merely talk-

ing about "making disciples of Jesus Christ to actually doing it.

So this year2014 we are going to fulfill our United Methodist Missionwe are going to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We are going to connectsecular people with Jesus. We are going to share the life of Jesus withthose who are spiritually empty. We are going to confront the darknesswith Gods light. We are going to become a life giving church. This iswhere Baughman is headed.

Get on board because the train is about to leave the station!

    MARCH GREEN ENVELOPE: MISSION CENTRAL

Two years ago the lower part of New Cumberland suffered flooding. We at Baughman ob-tained flood buckets from Mission Central and distributed them to grateful flood victims in

the area.Mission Central is the mission warehouse affiliate of the Susquehanna Conference of theUnited Methodist Church. Along with it's satellite operations called HUBS, it responds tonatural and man-made disasters with relief supplies and supplies humanitarian goods andlogistical services to hundreds of different ministry and social service agencies. Since it'sbeginning in June 2002, Mission Central has hosted tens of thousands of volunteers whocome in service to connect Gods resources with human need. With the volunteers, it pro-cesses disaster response materials, "relief kits" such as flood buckets, and health kits, foruse around the world, provides all types of needed supplies for local and national minis-tries, and assists many projects that are sending Gods love, locally, nationally, and around

the world. While Mission Central is a mission in its own right, it is also a house of Missions. Theyhouse five ministries that operate within their building: Bethesda Mission, The ComputerMinistry, New Digs Ministry, Mission Transport and SCCP. They store supplies and helpwith shipments for Arms around Africa, Rosebud Sioux Indian Project, Sierra Leone Initia-tive, Haiti Outreach, St. Joseph's Jamaica Outreach and the Fruit Belt Farm Workers Minis-try.

With the winter we have had, with all the snow and ice, spring flooding , especially in NewCumberland, is possible. Please give generously to Mission Central through the March Spe-

cial Offering so that when help is needed it is available.Volunteers are always needed at Mission Central. You can call717-776-1533. To learnmore about Mission Central go to www.missioncentral.org.
