Thanks to Sharon Butler and Fran Wollner for initiating the project, to Liz Diament for taking the lead in working with the artist, and to Jackie Rozmaryn for hanging the frame. In this fiber artwork by Susan Levi-Goerlich, the artist sought to convey a multi-level message of the essential values of community, light and hope. Beginning with the abstract flame imagery of the Ner Tamid on the right side of the piece, and continuing through the 18 individualized composition squares depicted in the work, the artist projects the concept of individuals bound together, enriched and strengthened by their communal whole. That is KMS.
