PALM SUNDAY-

JESUS TRIUMPHAL ENTRY INTO JERUSALEM

“I tell you, Peter, before the cock crows this day, you

will deny three times that you know me”. (Luke 22:34)

How many times have you heard someone make a dis-

paraging comment about Jesus or the Catholic faith?

How do you react? Do you remain quiet not to cause a

disturbance or worst yet, because you don’t want your

friends or family to think negatively about you? Pray

for the courage to speak up and enter into a respectful

dialogue.

EPIGRAM

Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the mastery of it.

Said William Penn: “Right is right, even if everyone is

against it”.

Oh do not pray for easy lives, pray to be a stronger

person. Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers, pray

for power equal to your tasks.

Contemporary Live Stations of The Cross

Good Friday, March 25th at 6:30pm.

St. Boniface Catholic Church grounds

We invite you to join us as we follow Jesus as He carries His cross

through the sins of today’s modern world.

Our lack of concern for the hungry, the abused, the homeless,

child slavery, prejudice, the aged, the imprisoned and those who

are ill continues to crucify Christ today.

Reminder: Please bring the nail you received on Ash Wednesday with you on Good Friday.

PASSION

The word “passion” connotes deep, focused engage-

ment. It also relates to passivity, interestingly. The deep-

ly passionate person in the Gospel narrative from Luke

is Jesus. He appears passive, but he is not. He is wholly

self-possessed and wholly present for the one day that

begins on Thursday evening at his last meal with his

apostles and ends with his burial before sunset the next

day. Then follows the long Sabbath silence.

The narrative of the Passion is read whole and without

pause on the Palm Sunday of the Passion. This story,

found in each of the Gospels, is unchanging. We are the

ones who change. Each year, we bring ourselves with

another year’s history to hear and heed the story we so

badly need. Life has its way with us, and we look again

to the Passion narratives to learn to follow. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

CATHOLIC FOCUS

As Catholic Christians we are called by our Lord to con-

tinue our understanding and knowledge of our Catholic

faith, the Sacred Scriptures, and our need to share our

faith with others. These areas are covered in our Catholic

Focus class every Sunday morning at 9:45 AM in the

Catholic Focus room in the Faith Formation building.

We receive our lessons for the week (on a monthly basis)

via email--to download and prepare for the lesson on the

following Sunday. The lessons are based on the Mass

Scriptures for that particular week. We have a catechist

that leads the class as we ponder and discuss how the

Scriptures encourage us to actually "LIVE AND APPLY

THEIR UNDERSTANDING TO THE MANNER IN

WHICH WE LIVE OUR LIVES". Adults of all ages are

welcome. We look forward to meeting and greeting you

as we grow in our knowledge of God's Calling in our

lives-to become the Disciples and Stewards we are

"called" to be. Please stop by and see for yourselves.

ESSENTIAL REDUCTION

All my theology is reduced to this narrow compass:
