Sanctuary Flowers - Consider giving the flowers for Sunday worship to remember or honor loved ones or to celebrate an event, while expressing praise and thanksgiving to God. Please contact Linda Watson during business hours at 302-571-6719 or [email protected]. Available dates are April 14, 21, and 28.
All children who leave the sanctuary after Assurance of Forgiveness MUST have a completed yellow security label on their back. This policy is for your child’s protection. Thank you for your help.
Are you wearing a nametag? Whether you are a long-time member or new to the church, wearing a nametag provides others the opportunity to meet you, greet you by name, and for you to become more familiar with others at church. You will find nametags and markers in baskets at all major entrances.
Worship Resources – You may obtain large print hymnals and hearing devices from any usher. Worship bags for children ages 3-6 include a children’s bulletin designed for them. Also, children’s bulletins for ages 7-12 are available from the ushers.
Please remember in your prayers:

Westminster’s Covenant Prayer Group prays weekly for specific needs of the faith community. Anyone may submit a prayer request by leaving a confidential message on 302-654-5848, ext. 335, or filling out a prayer request card (in the pew pocket) and placing it in the offering plate. Afghanistan often seems far away, and we may neglect to realize that Americans, as well as Afghans and members of coalition forces, continue to die. As Christians, we are called to pray for the spreading of peace and justice and an end to violence. If someone in your family is serving in the military, please let us know, so that we may include that person on our prayer list. Contact Colleen Falasco: 302-654-5214 ext. 131, or [email protected].
This week we pray for
Those known to the WPC Community presently serving in Afghanistan: Brendan Bowen, Edward Maloney, Kyle Rowe, Ann Exline Starr, Steve Wilson
The families of those from the U.S. who have died recently: Lance Corporal Anthony Denier, age 26, of Mechanicville, New York Specialist Tyler Orgaard, age 20, of Bismarck, North Dakota Sergeant 1st Class Darren Linde, age 41, of Sidney, Montana Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas Checque, age 28, of Monroeville, Pennsylvania

ORDER OF WORSHIP
PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP
Gracious God, we hear you calling us to live bold and faithful lives. You have shown us hope and you offer us courage. But sometimes, God, we are afraid of the difficult experiences; we despair at challenges that are given to us. Care for us on our journey, God. Help us to know that your love is always there, sustaining us, and surrounding us with care. Amen.

CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Living Lord, in this world where goodness and evil continue to clash with each other, instill in us, and in all your people: Discernment to see what is right, determination to pray for what is right. and courage to do what is right. Keep us aware of the subtlety of sin, and preserve us body, mind and soul through the power of your Spirit.
Amen.

ASSURANCE OF FORGIVENESS
There is no greater joy in the heart of God than the moment when a son or daughter opens to the gift of forgiveness. God’s Spirit reaches out to assure us of God’s redeeming love. Thanks be to God for the amazing grace we know in Christ, and for the help and strength of God’s Spirit.
SCRIPTURE LESSON Psalm 115: 1‐11
Not for our sake, God, no, not for our sake, but for your name’s sake, show your glory. Do it on account of your merciful love, do it on account of your faithful ways. Do it so none of the nations can say, “Where now, oh, where is their God?” Our God is in heaven, doing whatever God pleases. Their gods are metal and wood, handmade in a basement shop: They have carved mouths that cannot talk, painted eyes that cannot see, Tin ears that cannot hear, molded noses that cannot smell, Hands that cannot grasp, feet that cannot walk or run, throats that never utter a sound. Those who make them have become just like them, have become just like the gods they trust. But you, Israel: put your trust in God! Trust your Helper! Trust your Ruler! Clan of Aaron, trust in God! Trust your Helper! Trust your Ruler! All who fear God, trust in God! Trust your Helper! Trust your Ruler!
OFFERTORY
During the offering, please sign your name and pass the red folder down your row. As folders are returned to the center aisle, note the names of fellow worshippers on your pew.

HYMN “Not Unto Us, O Lord of Heaven” TUNE: ST. CATHERINE
Not unto us, O Lord of heaven, But unto You be glory given. In love and truth You do fulfill The counsels of Your sovereign will; Though nations fail Your power to own, Yet You still reign, and You alone.
The idol gods of heathen lands Are but the work of human hands; They cannot see, they cannot speak, Their ears are deaf, their hands are weak; Like them shall be all those who hold To gods of silver and of gold.
Let Israel trust in God alone, The Lord whose grace and power are known; To God your full allegiance yield, That one will be your help and shield; All those who fear God will be blest, The saints have proved God's faithfulness.
