A Big Thank You to all of those who gave the “gift of life” during our semi-annual blood drive last Sunday. Your donations are greatly appreciated!

Family Promise - Thank you to all who volunteered their time and/or resources the week of March 4-11 to make Family Promise at Dayspring happen. This time we hosted 3 families. Two women got or started jobs during the week. One woman and her family were offered an apartment. Dayspring’s next turn to host is the week of June 17.

Under the Tuscan Sun - On April 21, Family Promise will host its annual Stars and Angels Gala from 6:00-10:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy an evening in Tuscany including fine Italian cuisine, live entertainment, wine tasting, and a silent auction offering something for everyone. Tickets are $75 each. Sponsoring a table for 8 or more is also an option. Please contact Maria Hase at (480) 636-0963 for more information.

The Explorer’s Class will begin a new study next Sunday, March 25. Rev. Tom Griffith, a new member of our church and retired UM Minister, will lead a class on “Justice: a Comparison between Biblical and Secular Ideals of Justice.” Tom will bring some personal experience in dealing with justice issues in the church as well as his knowledge of scripture to this 3-week series. Join us at 9:00 a.m. in the Adult Room. All adults are welcome.

Contemporary Issues - This 10:30 Adult Class has begun a new topic: “Exploring Our Inner Universe, our brain, our beliefs, our religion.” We will explore how our beliefs are created and sustained as we continue in our own spiritual journeys. The class will be led by Sandi Chamness. We invite you to join us for this interesting discussion.

Singles at Dayspring - Singles, Etc. Lunches - Each Sunday after the second service, those who want to go out for lunch as a group meet at the restaurant listed below. If you attend first service, please join us! We gather around noon under the name “Dayspring”. March 18 - Mark’s Café - 6340 S. Rural Rd., #120 - NW corner of Rural and Guadalupe.

Brown Bag Lunch - Come join us for Brown Bag Lunch every Tuesday at noon. Bring your own lunch and socialize with people from the church. We always have a good time. Come and be a part of this fun group.

Connections is a Dayspring mission that advocates for the intrinsic worth of all persons, regardless of their sexual orientation. It offers support to and education about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons and their families. It also hosts the Tempe PFLAG group meeting each first Friday of the month. Our clergy can provide names of “Connections” members for you to contact.

Koinonikos Schedule - The next deadline date for the newsletter is April 15, and will include events in the month of May.
