Appreciation: The Mango Hill Progress Association sincerely thanks Councillor Julie Greer and Officers of
Moreton Bay Regional Council for the ongoing improvements in Danzy Buchanan Park and around the streets
over recent months. The park is truly looking a picture with the new shelters, bollards and electrical
connections, whilst Kinsellas Road West has been improved with upgraded line marking to make the roads
safer.

s the organiser of the Mango Hill Christmas Hamper Program for
the past four years, we were not expecting a large amount in our collection this year, knowing the economic difficulties that many face worldwide. However, from the outset, we were amazed at the generosity of the residents of the old and newer estates of Mango Hill. Many families were waiting with their bags at the ready or had left for us as previously arranged. It was quite obvious that many wanted to be a part of this on-going tradition and the spirit of giving is here in our community.
ocals know that these hamper donations are used to defray the
expenses of the rides, fireworks and celebrations of the night. Your donation has assisted Mango Hill to celebrate a season of joy and peace. Our community is happy to share and celebrate with their neighbours. The amount and quality of the donations was incredible with 22 baskets being made up and raffled to the amazing number of visitors to the Mango Hill Christmas Tree. To see so many offering their hand to fellow residents, makes me humble and proud that I am privileged to share this neighbourhood with such wonderful people.
lso I wish to say big thank you to my volunteers –
Janice, Terry, John, George, Jean, Tabitha, Tom, Tye, Sam, Paul, Paris, Jasmine, Lyn and Jade who braved the blistering heat over the two collection days. As well, the wonderful support of Alex and Lyn Gilroy and family who spent a week setting out the mass of offerings and packaging them up in baskets so that everyone got a fair share, was so much appreciated. THANK YOU ALL for your generosity of spirit and Christmas cheer!!! Ken Hatchman (Hamper Collection Organizer)
Casco Civil Construction (Ph 3480 5535) The Mango Hill Progress Association thanks Casco Civil Constructions for supporting our community.

2012 MANGO HILL CHRISTMAS TREE A WONDERFUL COMMUNITY SUCCESS!
hat a fantastic night it was on 15th December when some
2000 folk from Mango Hill, North Lakes and all around the Moreton Bay Region as well as visitors from far and wide took up every spot on Danzy Buchanan Park for our Christmas Celebration. It was great to welcome back many of our former neighbours (including Jill from Cairns) who know that Mango Hill can put on a “good night”. This fantastic support makes our efforts worthwhile.
hilst we did experience a “bumpy start” with our
Parachuting Santa make headlines Australia wide, one of Santa’s helpers was quickly on the scene to give that special message to the children. It was also a marvellous night of
entertainment made possible by our committed and hardworking organizing committee along with our fantastic sponsors and the many volunteers.
he Mango Hill Christmas Tree is also testament to the tremendous partnership the Mango Hill Progress Association
has with the folk of Mueller College. To Kent Cheney, Bethany Murphy, Steven Ware and the team at Mueller Community Church, your enthusiasm and support has been wonderful and appreciated. It was Bethany, Kent and Steven who not only organized much of the quality entertainment on the night, but they also put together the amazing lighting & sound program that gave such special effects to the entertainment. With young people such as these, our future is in good hands.
hank you to everyone who lent a hand, gave a donation, purchased tickets and helped make the 2012 Mango Hill
Christmas Tree such a success. I am so proud of the wonderful team of volunteers that work with me at Mango Hill. I welcome and thank those new folk who have moved into Park Vista this year and encourage your participation.
am able to advise that our Parachuting Santa is recovering well and has made arrangements for his helpers
worldwide to ensure that every child has that special visit on Christmas morning.
n closing, if you know of anyone in the Village who needs a hand or maybe does not have family close, you may
wish to make that extra effort to make them welcome this Christmas. May the joy and spirit of Christmas be with you and I wish all readers an enjoyable and safe holiday period.
Laurence Christie (President, Mango Hill Progress Association)
P.S Your home security is vital at this time of the year.
If you are heading off for the holidays, take those simple precautions of locking up well and advising those close to you!
