Dear Parents and Carers
This week we finished off the term in Christmas style with an excellent
Year 5 and 6 Christmas Production, a lovely Carol Concert, the Christmas
parties and a celebration of the 24 children receiving Special Merit certificates. Thank
you to all the parents, grandparents and families for all your support. Together we
make Maney Hill a great school for the children. Thank you to our four new teachers,
Miss Grencis, Miss Luckett, Miss Sharma and Miss Wood, to Mrs Summers our new
Finance Assistant and to all of our staff for your hard work and contribution to the
school. Finally we say goodbye to three members of staff - after a long absence, Mrs
Smith has decided to retire; Mrs Thorneloe has decided not to return following
maternity leave and Mr Reid is off to New Zealand. Thank you and good luck to them
all. Merry Christmas to everyone! Mrs Whitehead
School Clubs – letters have gone home this week with information about clubs.
During the Spring term clubs area available (first come first serve) for Years 1, 2, 4,
5 and 6. During the Summer term more clubs will be available.
Panto Pandemonium
Very well done to Years 5 and 6 for a stunning presentation of Panto
Pandemonium. The children on stage worked hard learning lines, dances and
words. Behind the scenes the children in the lighting and sound teams also did a
great job. It was lovely to see the children working well as a team and to see the
obvious pride and enjoyment on their faces.
Credit must go to Miss Grencis, Miss Luckett, Miss Harrison and Mrs Grayston
for fantastic support for the children. Well done all!
New books Our English Leader Miss Smithson is on a mission
to further improve Reading. The latest addition
to the reading books at Maney Hill is a set of ‘Pie
Corbett Reading Spine’ classic books for every
class.
These will be available for the children to read
silently or aloud to their teacher or teaching
assistant during BEAR time (Be Excited About
Reading).
Carol Concert at St. Peter’s Church
Well done to all the children in Year 3 and 4, the musicians and Head Boy and Head Girl for presenting a charming Carol Concert. Thank also to Church Reader Mrs Willis, Mrs Stonehill and the many school staff who supported.
Book Amnesty
If you have any extra school books, please
return them to school in January. Thank you

PARENTS QUESTIONNAIRE RESULTS
Thank you to everyone who completed a Parent Questionnaire. The results have been analysed by Mrs
Summers, Finance Assistant. They show actual numbers completed and percentages. For some questions,
only a few parents answered the questions so the percentages overall are low. With the purple font, the
questions were on the back of the sheet and some parents didn’t complete them.
