Adoption News at GHS GHS had 9 adoptions for the month of March 2015, 21 year to date. 54 cats currently reside at GHS. Featured Adoptables: Blackey Andromeda GHS Spring Open House Greenbelt Humane Society is hosting a Spring Open House on Sunday, April 12 th , from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. Join us at GHS to meet our volunteers and board members, tour the shelter and spacious cat enclosures, and visit with our fantastic feline friends. Board member Gary Klein has graciously donated three of his hand-tied quilts to be sold at the open house with all proceeds going to GHS. Mark your calendar! Make a Difference – Volunteer Greenbelt Human Society is currently in need of volunteers at the shelter. We are looking for people who have a love of cats and a little time to help us out. Even if you can only give an hour or two of your time a week, WE NEED YOU! Please give us a call at the shelter or stop by anytime. Please spread the word to any person or group looking for service hours. Rescue Success Story - Blackey Blackey arrived last fall at the shelter mangled and bleeding from bite wounds. A kind soul brought her to the shelter and after a visit to the vet; Blackey began her slow journey to recovery. Volunteers worked tirelessly with Blackey to bring her back to good health. She is now warm and safe, waiting for her new home.
