NationalThe British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is a British public service broadcaster. Its work is funded principally by an annual television licence fee which is charged to all British households, companies, and organisations using any type of equipment to receive or record live television broadcasts. The BBC is meant to inform, educate and entertain.

On the 18th of October 1922 the BBC was formed. By 2016 other branches of the BBC like BBC 3 are starting to become online channels only. Radio was still very important, and early in the decade the world’s longest running radio soap opera was born - The Archers. BBC TV’s second big debut of the decade came in 1958 with the start of Blue Peter - still running to this day. An experiment to televise live debate from the Commons was considered successful, but the public could not see it. Regular live proceedings by TV were not broadcast until November 1989.

The BBC is funded by the tax payer a certain amount of money each year form each household goes to the BBC each year to keep it funded.

The difference between International, national and local

The difference between an international and a national corporation is that the international is a corporation located all over the world, and Rupert Murdoch owns a large amount of cable companies all over the world e.g. fox news and sky. Where a company national cooperation like the BBC is owned by the UK and aired in the UK. And a local corporation is a corporation which is only aired in a certain area of a country and only that area can watch that channel.
