MAGNIFICO ISLAND

Magnifico island is a tropical island located between Darwin, Australian and Indonesia. The three things we chose to do are settlement, tourism and natural resources. The benefits to our island are we are such a green island and a perfect holiday destination.

ISABELLE NGUYEN - MINISTER OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT

As the Minister for infrastructure and regional developments. I am responsible for building cities and towns and finding places for the people of my country. I find a place where the people like to live and if they don't like the place then I find another place for them. What I have done includes:

- I have built the capital city which is near the extinct volcano.

- I have built the mines in the mountains where we find uranium.

- I have built the farmers house near the river and where there is more land he can grow crops.

WHAT ARE THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PEOPLE AND PLACES ACROSS THE GLOBE?

The connections we have between people and places across the globe is Uranium. We trade Uranium to countries that use it for power to make money to grow our economy.

HOW DOES THE GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION INFLUENCE THE WAY PLACES DEVELOP?

Magnifico is stationed between Australia and Indonesia, this affects our mining of resources such as uranium. The tropical environment we live in affects how much we can trade because of how hot it is affecting the amount of work people are able to do.

HOW CAN WE SUSTAIN OUR NATURAL RESOURCES?

We sustain our natural resources by building in plots of land that are not important in the survival of the environment.

We build the houses out of material that doesn't produce pollution such as wood.

ADRIAAN DEN HARTOG - MINISTER OF TRADE AND INVESTMENT.

I am the minister of trade and investment, I take care of trade between country's and what we use the money for. What I have done so far includes:

Set up a trade system for exporting our uranium.

Increased the economy.

Because I am the minister of trade I have to make decisions with the minister of infrastructure and regional developments (Isabelle Nguyen) on where to mine and set up different trade systems.

WHAT ARE THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PEOPLE AND PLACES ACROSS THE GLOBE?

Our connections with different countries allow us to trade uranium for different material and make money. Magnifico has decided against using nuclear power sources, so we are trying to sell to other countries who do use it and make our money.

HOW CAN WE SUSTAIN OUR NATURAL RESOURCES?

We can sustain our environment by having strict regulations on how to dispose of contaminants so they don't pollute the area and ruin the environment. We can also keep the area where we mine uranium as clean as possible and keep away from the environment .

DARCY TWIST - MINISTER OF TOURISM

As minster of tourism it my job to make events. Talk to the government about making more tourist attractions and making the natural attractions save.

-I've made the reef saving by putting none hurtful nets so people don't stele the colourful reef

-I've made protective fens around our mountain and volcano so tourist don't fowl of the edge That is what I do for minster of tourism.

WHAT ARE THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PLACES ACROSS THE GLOBE?

At Magnifico we take country connection very seriously because if we have good connections with other countries and they respect us, their people will come to our country to see our local attractions. This will support our tourism industry. Our connections with different countries allows us to make money from tourism.

HOW DOES THE GEOGRAPHIC LOCATION INFLUENCE THE WAY PLACES DEVELOP?

Magnifico is located right on top of a fault line. The mountain range and volcano were formed millions of years ago so make natural tourist attractions. The volcano is extinct so tourists can climb to the top. Magnifico is located in between the Tropic of Capricorn and the Tropic of Cancer which means our island is very

tropical and relaxing. Reef Magnifica is located on the north-western coast of Magnifico.

HOW CAN WE SUSTAIN OUR NATURAL RESOURCES?

Sustaining our natural environment is very important to the economic structure of Magnifico. We need to maintain laws to protect environment such as using solar powered energy (no pollution), no cars, no motorbikes, no factories, all solar powered machinery

HOW ARE ECONOMIC, DEMOGRAPHIC & SOCIAL OR DIFFERENT ACROSS GEOGRAPHIC REGIONS?

It is a coral reef with all different types of fish and corals. The beach is lined with native palm trees and crystal cleared water.

CONCLUSION

We think our island is unique in every way. What we don't like about our island is that the mountain looks messy, but the rest looks great. The thing we would like to change about our island is the mountain, like we said before the mountain looks messy.
