Offline software included which runs on Windows computersANILAM Series 3000 COMMANDO easily

automates the positioning of manual boring

mills. It utilizes conversational machinist-

language programming which is easy to

understand; there are no G-codes or other

machine codes to learn. And no experience

is required to program or operate the control.

ANILAM Series 3000 COMMANDO fills the gap between manual and full N/C operation at an affordable cost. Use of the latest technology allows system upgrades to gain morememory, faster processors, networking capabilities and more. Program updates are easily loaded via a floppy disk.

REDUCE SETUP AND POSITIONING TIMEAutomatic Positioning eliminates the need for rods and indicators and reduces positioning time by as much as 75%.

System Repeatability.The resolution of the control is based on the machine application. The repeatability of the measuring system based on thetransducer used can be +/- one count of the resolution, .01mm (.0005") or .002mm (.0001"). The repeatability of the positioning system can be +/- two counts of the resolution, .02mm (.0010") or .004mm (.0002"). The positioning repeatabilityis a function of the condition and capability of the machine tool.

Machine Requirements.The Series 3000 COMMANDO will interface with three basic machine tool motor drive systems:1. DeVlieg type machines using “hook cycle” or other types of rod positioning system. The COMMANDO utilizes the existing

AC drive motor and interfaces with machine relays to provide positioning speed control. The need for the “hook cycle” iseliminated providing even greater positioning speed.

2. Machines which have pendant or electronic control of position feed rates. If a low feed or creep feed is available with arapid traverse override, COMMANDO can position all axes.

3. Machines with DC motors and servos. Provided the motor and servo amplifier are functional, ANILAM Series 3000 COMMANDO will control the motor or motors via its DC servo interface.
