Music is vital to the life of the St. Paul’s, as it is for all of God’s creation. St. Paul’s Music Program, affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music in America, offers choral and instrumental opportunities for all ages and voice levels. We learn of God’s story and love for us through the music we sing and ring. We learn the techniques involved in our chosen instrument so that we can more closely “tell the story.” St. Paul’s Choristers begin with children age 5 (at the discretion of the conductor and dependent upon maturity) and continue through Middle School for girls and voice change for boys. The choristers meet for rehearsal from 11:45 to 12:30 each Sunday during term. Singers in high school are invited to join the choir for adults, St. Paul’s Choir. St. Paul’s Choir is open to all who are interested and have sung at some point in their past. The choir sings music from the late Renaissance through the 21st century, including some Avant-garde compositions. St. Paul’s Choir rehearses Thursday evenings during term and prior to the morning liturgy during the summer. The choir sings year round. St. Paul’s Bells offers an opportunity for those who might feel a vocal choir is not their calling, as well as those who sing. The choir, consisting of 11 ringers, meets on Monday afternoons. Fellowship is one of its primary functions, as well as learning the ins and outs of music. Contact Sumner Jenkins, Organist/Choirmaster, ([email protected]) if you are interested in any of these opportunities.
