Head over to Wellawaya, a small town surrounded by lofty mountain ranges, bountiful paddy �elds and fresh water streams and waterfalls. Wellawaya is located approximately 31 kilometres from Ella.

Arrive at Jetwing Kaduruketha where you will enjoy the rustic charm and stylish simplicity of a unique eco-luxury resort and spend the rest of the day relaxing and sampling the incredible �avours of local cuisine.

Sri Lanka is blessed with abundant wildlife. Udawalawa National Park is one of the best places in the island to spot large gatherings of elephants at a given moment. In the late afternoon, drive up to the Park for a safari ride where you will be able to spot elephants, water bu�aloes, Spotted and Sambur Deer as well as the endemic Toque Macaque and Grey Langurs.

Wake up to the view of the mystical mountain range overlooking the vast paddy �eld or lush greenery by the side of your own personal dwelling. After enjoying a mouth-watering assortment of traditional Sri Lankan dishes for breakfast, set o� on a bird watching tour in the resort and its surroundings. Jetwing Kaduruketha is located in an intermediate zone resulting in good climatic conditions for a mix of dry and wet zone �ora and fauna. During the tour spot some of the endemic birds of Sri Lanka including Sri Lanka Grey Hornbill, Sri Lanka Hanging Parrot, Sri Lanka Emerald-collared Parakeet and Sri Lanka Small Barbet.

After the short bird watching tour, have an archaeology experience by visiting various temples, palace ruins and other such monuments dating back from the 2nd century BC to the 12th century BC. Buduruwagala,Yudhaganawa and Maligavila are historic sites with many remnants of the ancient past including ancient temple complexes, Buddha statues and stupas. Maligawila consists of a free-standing 11 metre tall Buddha statue (which is claimed to be the tallest free-standing Buddha statue in the world).

Return to the hotel and for some rest and relaxation and enjoy a refreshing drink by the pool.

After breakfast, engage in an exhilarating hike to the fall head of Diyaluma Falls - the second largest water fall in Sri Lanka standing at 220 metres. The hike includes climbing/walking through the savannah grassland in Poonagala. Hiking to the top of the fall head from which you can see a breathtaking view of the surroundings. Enjoy a picnic lunch and then climb down towards the base of the Falls.

After the hike, spend the rest of the evening at the resort taking a dip in the elegantly designed swimming pool that’s design was in�uenced by ancient architecture.

Enjoy an evening safari at the Yala National Park. The park is best known for its variety of wild animals including birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians and �sh. It is also known for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, Sri Lankan leopards and other aquatic birds.
