    FLOATING LODGEFLOATING LODGE IS LOCATED ON THE BUBBLE POND AT ACADIA NATIONAL PARK IN MAINE. IT IS TO SERVE AS A HIKERS LEAN TO SHELTER DURING THE MONTHS OF MAY TO OCTOBER. THE NATURALLY FOUND ROCK IS TO BE HELD BY VERY THIN TUBULAR STEEL COLUMNS IN ORDER TO GIVE IT A FLOATING EFFECT. DUE TO THE COOL TEMPERATURES IN SUCH HIGH ALTITUDES, THE ROCK IS TO SERVE AS INSULATION AND ABSORB THE HEAT DURING THE DAY AND SLOWLY RELEASE IT AT NIGHT. GLASS PARTITIONS ALLOW FOR SCENIC 360-DEGREE VIEWS AND A GLASS FLOOR ALLOWS FOR MORE OF A CONNECTION TO BE ESTABLISHED BETWEEN THE STRUCTURE AND THE LANDSCAPE. A SLEEPING, BATHING, AND EATING AREA IS FOUND IN ORDER TO GIVE THE HIKER A SHORT STAY A MIDST THE BUBBLE POND.

    THE WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW MUSEUM IS LOCATED AT A UNION SQUARE DOG PARK IN NEW YORK CITY A FEW BLOCKS AWAY FROM WHERE IT ALL STARTED BACK IN 1877. A GROUP OF HUNTERS CREATED A KENNEL CLUB AT THE WESTMINSTER HOTEL (16TH STREET AND IRVING PLACE) IN ORDER TO HOLD ANNUAL DOG SHOWS. IN THE SHOW, DOGS ARE JUDGED ON THEIR BREED STANDARDS AND WHAT THEIR BREED IS BEST AT. MAIN CATEGORIES ARE BEST IN SHOW AND BEST OF GROUP WITH SMALLER SECTIONS WITHIN. THE MUSEUM IS TO SHOWCASE THE DIFFERENT BREEDS AND THE HIGHLIGHTS OF A CERTAIN YEARS DOG SHOW IN THE MANNER OF AN OBSTACLE COURSE. THE MUSEUM WILL CHANGE ITS COLLECTION 4 TIMES A YEAR, HOUSE ADOPTION DAY EVERY 2 MONTHS, HELP TRAIN AND TAKE CARE OF ITS VISITORS. DOG TRAINERS, VETERINARIES, AND NUTRITIONISTS ARE FOUND ON THE GROUND LEVEL AND SERVE AS THE BACKSTAGE AND BACKBONE TO THE MUSEUM, WHICH IS ABOUT HAVING THE BEST DOG OF ITS KIND WHETHER THAT IS IN HEALTH, GROOM, AGILITY, OR PERSONALITY. AS ONE MAKES ITS WAY UP THE OBSTACLE COURSE, THE LAST EXHIBITION SPACE LEADS THE VISITOR TOWARDS THE DOG PARK AND AN OUTDOOR CAFE. EVERY SPACE WITHIN THE MUSEUM IS ACCOMMODATED TO SUIT THE DOGS AND ITS OWNERS. THE EXISTING DOG PARK WAS ADAPTED TO MAKE THE DOGS THE CENTER OF ATTENTION AND THE PLACE THE SPECTATORS ON THE SIDES. THE MAIN IDEA OF THE MUSEUM WAS TO MAKE IT AN EXTENSION OF THE PARK ALL YEAR ROUND AND HAVING ITS INDOOR AND OUTDOOR SPACES INTERTWINED.

    design toolbox to fit materials

    the container holds all the architecture drafting tools including draft-ing tape and triangles. the design resembles a building from its exterior, avoiding the appearance of a typical toolbox. its sliding walls allow for an easier interface when placing or removing the supplies.

    the home designed is based on modular furniture built in the home. inspiration was found in moving homes, trailers, and modular furniture. the home uses panels to divide the space into different living areas. clerestory windows are prominent throughout the home to allow natural light, yet it gives the occupant privacy and no need for blinds or curtains. storage, resting, entertainment, cooking, eating, hygiene, working, and a sleeping area are available within the home.

    miamis warm weather lasts year round attracting many tourists. during december art basel arrives in miami, when most of the country is facing cold winters. wintry containers are inspired by miamis port, known for its parked cruise ships and stacked containers. the feeling for its visitors is like being inside icy storage containers due to its ice-topped benches and skylights. the communal gathering provides seating areas, music entertainment and is accessible for everyone.

    the design uses recycled containers from the port, polished and painted with a shade of gray (perspective csp-5 benjamin moore) to give a wintry cool feeling. the structure of each container will remain intact and slit openiings will be cut providing natural lighting. chroma sea 3form resin will be used for each slit as well as for the top of the benches inside the containers.

    DE[CLENSE]ION CEMETARY DESCENDS ITS VISITORS DEEP INTO THE EARTH AND THEN TAKES THEM ALONG A CLEANSING JOURNEY ENDING BY THE WATER. A FRAMED PATHWAY ALLOWS FOR THE VISITOR TO TRAVEL ALONG THE ENTIRE PATH BEFORE EXITING THE CEMETARY. STARTING ON THE GROUND LEVEL, FRAMES BEGIN TO DESCEND ONE STEP AT A TIME INTO A DARKER AND MORE PRIVATE SPACE. THE MAIN TOMBS ARE FOUND NEAR THE PATHWAY AND URNS FOR THE REST OF THE FAMILY MEMBERS ARE FOUND BEHIND. A SPACE FOR MEMORABILIA AND DOCUMENTS IS PARTIALLY ENCLOSED TO LET SOME LIGHT PENETRATE AT CERTAIN TIMES OF THE DAY WHILE STILL GIVING THE SPACE SOME PRIVACY. THE EARTH SERVES AS SEATING AND AS A MEAN OF CIRCULATION TROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SITE. FRAMES CONTINUE TO LEAD THE VISITOR INTO THE WATER, SUBMERGING THEM UNTIL THE WATER COVERS THEM MIDWAY. TWO ELEVATED GARDENS ARE FOUND IN ORDER TO CREATE A GATHERING SPACE. A MORE PRIVATE GARDEN IS FOUND BY THE TREES TOWARDS THE ENTRANCE, BEFORE THE JOURNEY BEHINDS. ANOTHER ONE IS FOUND WITH AN OCEAN VIEW AND IT ALSO SERVES AS A PLACE TO EAT AND PREPARE FOOD.

    THE WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW MUSEUM IS LOCATED AT A UNION SQUARE DOG PARK IN NEW YORK CITY A FEW BLOCKS AWAY FROM WHERE IT ALL STARTED BACK IN 1877. A GROUP OF HUNTERS CREATED A KENNEL CLUB AT THE WESTMINSTER HOTEL (16TH STREET AND IRVING PLACE) IN ORDER TO HOLD ANNUAL DOG SHOWS. IN THE SHOW, DOGS ARE JUDGED ON THEIR BREED STANDARDS AND WHAT THEIR BREED IS BEST AT. MAIN CATEGORIES ARE BEST IN SHOW AND BEST OF GROUP WITH SMALLER SECTIONS WITHIN. THE MUSEUM IS TO SHOWCASE THE DIFFERENT BREEDS AND THE HIGHLIGHTS OF A CERTAIN YEARS DOG SHOW IN THE MANNER OF AN OBSTACLE COURSE. THE MUSEUM WILL CHANGE ITS COLLECTION 4 TIMES A YEAR, HOUSE ADOPTION DAY EVERY 2 MONTHS, HELP TRAIN AND TAKE CARE OF ITS VISITORS. DOG TRAINERS, VETERINARIES, AND NUTRITIONISTS ARE FOUND ON THE GROUND LEVEL AND SERVE AS THE BACKSTAGE AND BACKBONE TO THE MUSEUM, WHICH IS ABOUT HAVING THE BEST DOG OF ITS KIND WHETHER THAT IS IN HEALTH, GROOM, AGILITY, OR PERSONALITY.
