LTG Mary Legere
LTG Mary Legere is the 4th female Three Star General in the United
States Army’s 240-year history.
Promoted to Lieutenant General in April 2012, she is the Army’s
Senior Intelligence Officer and Principal Advisor on Intelligence and
Security Policy, Programs and Operations for the Secretary of the
Army and Army Chief of Staff.

Now three and a half years into her tenure, LTG Legere oversees
the global operations of the Army’s 58,000 person Intelligence
Corps, and is the primary architect for the modernization,
transformation and readiness of Army Intelligence for the
Department of Defense.

Prior to this assignment, LTG Legere commanded the Army’s
16,000 person Global Intelligence Command, and served as the
Senior U.S. Intelligence Officer supporting joint and coalition
military operations in Iraq and in the Republic of Korea.

In her three decades of service to the Army and to the United
States, LTG Legere has emerged as one of the nation’s foremost
experts on the planning, resourcing and execution of multi-
discipline intelligence operations.
LTG Mary Legere has provided inspired leadership to inform the
Army’s ability to generate intelligence, cyber and security
solutions, supporting both the Army and Joint forces global
requirements.
