This Holiday Grant Newsletter contains grant opportunities for the months of January through

April 2020 as well as ongoing grant opportunities.

year! Grants are a great resource to help fund classroom projects.

DID YOU RECEIVE A GRANT?In order to make sure you receive your grant check you must complete and submit a Grant Received Form for each funded grant. This form can be found at lpsb.org, under staff tab, click on LPPS Grant Writing Link.

If this procedure is not followed, and Central Office receives the grant check, we cannot assure checks will be distributed to the correct personnel. By filling out the grant form, this will help Central Office know where to direct those funds.

January Grant OpportunitiesThe International Literacy Association (ILA) Regie Routman Teacher Recognition Grant is a US $2,500 annual grant that honors an outstanding K–8 classroom teacher dedicated to improving and enriching the teaching and learning of purposeful reading and writing across the curriculum. At least 60 percent of the school's students must qualify for free or reduced lunch. The grant may not be used for purchase of commercial programs or technology hardware. AIAA Foundation Classroom Grants The AIAA believes that one of the most significant means to inspire and advance the future of Aerospace is to fund $250 grants to meet the unmet and unfunded educational need of students. This program promotes aerospace education activities in classrooms from kindergarten through twelfth grades. AASL Innovative Reading GrantThe $2,500 grant supports the planning and implementation of a unique and innovative program for children which motivates and encourages reading, especially with struggling readers. http://www.ala.org/aasl/awards/innovativeDeadline: February 1

Dollar General Literacy FoundationSummer reading program that targets Pre-K -12th grade students who are new readers, below grade level readers, and readers with learning disabilities. Application opens January 3. https://www.dgliteracy.org/grant-programs/#summer-reading

Shell Science Lab GrantTeacher’s grades 6-12 can apply to win a $20,000 lab makeover for your school. NEA Student Achievement GrantsGeneral School/Classroom Grant (PK-12): $250-$5,000 to fund resource materials, supplies, equipment, or software in order to improve the academic achievement of students in any subject areas. February Grant OpportunitiesWalmart and Sam’s Club Community GrantCommunity Grants range from a minimum of $250 to the maximum grant of $2,500. Organizations must submit an online application to be considered for funding. The 2017 grant cycle begins Feb. 1, 2018 and the application deadline is Dec. 31, 2018. March Grant OpportunitiesAssociation of American Educators Teacher scholarships and classroom grants are competitive awards available to all educators. National PTA Mary Lou Anderson Reflections Arts Enhancement Grant provides up to $1,000 in matching funds to support local PTA arts projects within their school community. Funded projects will increase access to learning opportunities in the literary, media, visual and/or performing arts for at-risk or underserved audiences. Cox Charities Innovation in Education GrantThe Innovation in Education Grant supports is available to Pre-K to 12th grade and funds technology, programs and curriculum that promote students’ academic success and enhance the educational experience. April Grant OpportunitiesDollar General Youth Literacy Grants Youth Literacy Grants provide funding to schools, public libraries, and nonprofit organizations to help students who are below grade level or experiencing difficulty reading. Grant funding provides assistance to the following areas: implementing new or expanding existing literacy programs, purchasing new technology or equipment to support literacy initiatives, and Purchasing books, materials or software for literacy programs. ASC Hach High School Chemistry GrantChemistry Classrooms (9-12): Up to $1,500 to enhance the teaching and learning of high school chemistry with ideas that transform classroom learning and encourage student development. ING Unsung Heroes AwardGrants given to K-12 educators to utilize new teaching methods and techniques that improve learning. Educators submit applications describing projects they have initiated or would like to pursue. Each year, 100 educators are selected to receive $2,000 to help fund their innovative class projects. Ongoing Grant OpportunitiesSpeed Stacks Sports Grant ProgramSpeed Stacks will be awarding on 30 set Sport Pack per month to deserving grant applicants. Applications must be submitted by the 15th of each month and winners will be notified the first of the following month. Award: Equipment Grant. The Lovett FoundationThe Charlie Lovett Fund for Elementary Drama is a philanthropic fund that supports production based theatre arts programs at the elementary school level. Eduporium Educational Technology GrantGrant is open to all educators in the USA. Educators can apply once per month, one application per person. Brite Star Classroom Teacher GrantsBrite Star offers four different grants available to classrooms and libraries.
