Joie de VideoOn a day when the details make all the difference, why would you risk missing

one single thing? The truth is we spend months upon months stressing over

each element of the ceremony and reception. But in the midst of all the

happiness and joy, most brides and grooms overlook many magical moments

happening right in front of them. Just ask one of your recently married

friends, and I am positive that they will tell you how their wedding day flew

by before their very eyes. So when planning your wedding, make sure that

commemorating the event is at the top of your to-do list.

As my search for exemplary wedding vendors continues, I have been thinking a lot about every element that goes into a wedding. During this process, I asked new wives as well as business owners what their biggest tip for brides would be. Though I got many suggestions, one really stood out: place value in the elements of your wedding that will last past that one special day. My vendor search now had a clear direction, which led me straight to Chris Tanner at BéBé Video Productions. As I sat with Mr. Tanner amongst his rather large collection of computers, monitors and other tech equipment I could never identify, I began to realize what videography is all about. In short, it is a gift that you give yourself. A gift that contains every happy moment from your wedding day, including the scenes you were a part of as well as the ones you completely missed. And talk about a gift that keeps on giving! Image having the ability to watch your wedding day moments for every happy anniversary and every time your future children wonder what their Mom and Dad’s wedding was like.

It was easy to get wrapped up in Chris’s passion for his craft as he

explained the videography process to me. The first thing you should know is that all packages are customizable, so have no fear if you don’t find what you are looking for on his website. In fact, I highly recommend meeting with Chris. He easily explained to me the processes he uses to get the best shots. During the rehearsal, Chris scouts out some perfect setups for his cameras. This guarantees perfect angles for moments like the walk down the aisle and the tears your fiancé promised he wouldn’t shed.

Mr. Tanner even places a discreet wireless mike on the groom to ensure that every precious vow is captured without background noise. Technical wonders like this are just one of the many measures BéBé Video takes to respect the ceremony and the ceremony site. Also, cameras that do not require spotlights make it easy for Chris to coordinate with your photographer, making the most of your commemorating efforts. Only a true professional can create a video that justly captures every instant to its fullest and in no less than high definition!

I urge you to consider the benefits

of having a constantly running camera at your ceremony and reception. You will not regret giving yourself the opportunity to see every funny moment one more time, and revel over every detail you so carefully planned and executed. So join the many happy newlyweds that Chris Tanner so lovingly refers to as “his couples” and never ask yourself what you may have missed on your wedding day.

& GilliganJOSEPHMEET ALExIS OCTOBER 8, 2011

Alexis Leigh is the daughter of Dale and Josefina Knezek and the granddaughter of the late Alejandro and Elena Falliner and the late Raymond and Ruby Knezek. Joseph Timothy is the son of Timothy and Linette Gilligan and the grandson of William and Pauline Gonzalez and Rosemarie Gilligan and the late James Gilligan.

Josette Broussard served as Matron of Honor. Alexis’ bridesmaids were Shannon Gilligan, Whitney Stelly, and Emily Carrigg.

Lt. Marc Perez served as the Best Man. Joseph’s groomsmen were Erick Knezek, Cody Clark, Chris Meisner, and Capt. Ken Hampshire.

Douglas Broussard, CDR. William Bushman, Lt. Bret Shary, Lt. Aidan Carrigg, and Lt. Jack Stuart served as the ushers. Bethany Hebert served as the flower girl and Reese Broussard served as the ring bearer.

I had to plan the wedding from Hawaii while Joseph was on deployment! I was wearing my grandmother’s mantilla veil and I used my great grandmother’s embroidered handkerchief. We had a gorgeous sword arch. The tradition says that to pass through each archway you have to kiss, so a swordsman will say, “A kiss to pass.” At the end of the arch the best man slaps you on your bottom and says, “Welcome to the Navy!”

The ceremony was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church and was officiated by Deacon Reggie Bollich.

The bride was escorted by her father, Dale Knezek as she carried a bouquet of flame calla lilies, green orchids, hot pink, red, and orange roses, with accents of purple status, yellow aster, hydrangea, and green Dutch poms.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at City Club in River Ranch. After a honeymoon as the Four Seasons Resorts at Lanai, The Lodge at Koele, the couple will reside in Kailua, Hawaii.
