Billy Lane Lost and Found When I received the letter I knew things would not get better The note was small And it threw me a curveball Reading the words of defeat They considered my qualities less elite Making me swear All I wanted to do was be alone like a hibernating bear Alone in my cave I was like a lion big and brave Being as silent as a grave I could barely behave I was as blind as a mole I had dug myself into a cave My future was as clear as mud I felt like utter crud As time flew by In the blink of an eye Finally I made my choice At a place where I can find my voice Questions: Is the rhyming scheme effective? Do the similes work with the poem? What is the poem about? Does the speaker get over his dilemma? What is the message of the poem?
