We Celebrated a Happy 4th of July!

On June 19, 2019 Laura Baron posted to our LASDC Facebook Page: "It is with a heavy heart that I tell you that the love of my life has passed. He left us without pain, in our home in his sleep. Our "Energizer Bunny", Fred Baron leaves a huge hole in this world where he enjoyed life and gave so much to so many. Please remember him dancing almost every dance with his baseball cap and a smile on his face".

SUNDAY DANCE SCENE; JULY 2019

The American Legion - On our Sunday June 30th dance, and in honor of the 4th of July, the L.A.S.D.C Board Members provided an assortment of picnic foods, desserts, & drinks... Yumm! We had a great turn-out, had our Parade of Flags, and had a fun Indepen-dance with DJ Don Estep.

Our Congratulations go out to Woody, our Legion Friend and Dancer, for his being installed as the new Commander of the The American Legion Post 716 on July 6, 2019!

We wish Grace Barnes a speedy recovery, as we heard that she is still under the weather.

A Speedy Recovery is wished for Larry Price, he went in for back surgery on July 1st & 8th. He'll be Baaack! Our thoughts & Well-wishes go out to Joe Picconi, he recovering from a recent stroke, and doing well. We extend our condolences to Dorothy Aragon Baca whose Sister recently passed away in Denver, CO. Good Health is elusive and can be maintained well by keeping your brain and your body moving! Eat Healthy and Balanced meals, 3-5 small meals per day, DRINK WATER, and minimize your time in front of the TV and/or Computer. Walk a few blocks or a few Miles daily. Take classes at your local Rec. Center (Example: www.longbeach.gov) for Gardening, Cooking, Art, Exercise, or Dancing! Attend every Dance you comfortably can. Do word games, play cards, go out with friends and have meaningful conversations! Volunteer at a service organization, like for our Host location, The American Legion! You can easily Join and come more often for Ours and other events!
