Occupancy Indicator DeadboltE-Series

The Arrow Occupancy Indicator deadbolt, available on the E Series Grade 2 Arrow Deadbolt, provides privacy control by utilizing a large external view-ing window that signals when the room is occupied. The Arrow Occupancy Indicator uses an emergency key override to unlock the door from the outside in case of emergency. When the deadbolt is in the locked position, an exter-nal slot is exposed that provides for the use of the override key. When this key is used, the key is captured in the deadbolt and cannot be removed until the deadbolt is retracted or turned to the “In Use” or unlocked position. This product is ideal for use in restroom facilities and other areas requiring visual notification of use and secured privacy.

Small Format Interchangeable Cores (SFIC) are perhaps the most popular style of lock in history. They’re so prevalent that nearly every cylinder manufacturer has their own version of a SFIC on the market in effort to capture a piece of the SFIC busi-ness. Some of the more elaborate offerings feature patented key control, allowing existing SFIC users to protect against unwant-ed key duplication without having to replace large amounts of existing hardware. These cylinders have always been limited by the size of the master key systems they can support.

Master Key Potential

A master key system built on 6-pin cores is capable of only 4096 unique changes, and a 7-pin system tops out at 16,384. Those numbers are far too small for many office complexes, universities, and government entities that have large, multiple-building campuses, forcing the use (and management) of many different sectional keyways for large installations. The new KeyMark X4 retrofit cylinder line from Medeco High Security Locks adds another dimension to previous SFIC offerings. The KeyMark X4 product line incor-porates the tried-and-true Best A2 pinning specification, and adds a locking pin and slider that is actuated by a special key side bitting. The addition of these components quadruples the amount of possible key combinations, allowing for much larger master key systems than the majority of SFIC products on the market. A 6-pin KeyMark X4 master key system has the capacity for up to 16,384 theoretical changes, while a 7-pin system can be as large as 65,536. Another way to look at it is that the extra changes avail-able in a KeyMark X4 master key system are equivalent to having an additional pin chamber. There are a number of different sliders with varying dimensions that are used specific to the keyways or master key systems. There is a single locking pin that is used with all slider variations. Retrofit Potential

Like the first generation KeyMark by Medeco, the x4 product line will allow the integration of SFIC and conventional cylinders (KIK, rim, mortise) into one keying system. The Chit-Key Vault stores keys securely using a unique key/lock configuration. The vault door opens with a user key that is inserted and trapped into a lock inside the vault. The stored key is then released and used to lock the vault. The process is reversed when returning the key ring. Stored key rings usually hold facility, automobile, casino, vending, and master keys.

The Multi-Chit Panel allows quick and easy key storage and tracking. The panel uses a unique key/lock configuration that reveals who has a missing key with the use of identifying key tags. Two locks work together creating a unique and innovative product.

Users first insert a key fitting into the top lock. After it is secured, the bot-tom key is released. The user’s key remains locked until the bottom key is returned. Once the bottom key is locked, the user’s key may be removed.

This means that you can lock your door knowing that no unauthorized person can open it. You are able to easily change the access rights to that door, or any door within your system.

No external wiring is needed to install and use the Protec CLIQ. All the micro-electronics are in the lock and the key. All power to open the lock is supplied by the key. All

Protec CLIQ keys have double encoding: mechanical coding on the blade of the key and electronic coding on a chip in the bow. The key blanks are protected by patents and the electronic code is protected by strong DES encryption. This combination provides high mechanical security, as well as maximum electronic security. Inside each cylinder, is another chip, corresponding to the chip in the key, with the sole function of only giving access to keys with the right electronic code.

The best feature of the Protec CLIQ is the ability to combine mechanical Protec lock cylinders and Protec CLIQ with the same system.



Models:5016N – Adjustable for spring sizes 1-6. Meets 5lbs., maximum opening force forinterior doors, and 8.5lbs., maximum opening force for exterior doors.

Certification:The 5016N Series closers are U.L. and C.U.L. listed for use on 3 hour

or lesser doors. They are certified to the requirements of ANSI A156.4, Grade 1, and meet the standards for UL10C and UBC7.2 (1997) for positive pressure. The 5016N Series also meets the standardof ANSI A117.1 and ADA for barrier free accessibility.
