GRADE 12 HEALTH CARE

As one of the last activities of their course, our grade 12 health care students put on their very own ‘themed potluck.’ Students brought in delicious treats like intestines (pastry), band-aides (wafers and icing), stool (chocolate pudding), cotton balls (marshmallows), and lard from liposuction (potato and egg salad). Ms. Hunda would like to thank her class for a wonderful semester and wish them well on their exams and their second semester.

LOCKERBY COMPOSITE’S ENVIRONMENTAL COUNCIL

This year’s Environmental Council is up and running and they even have a new logo! A group of over a dozen dedicated students have already begun organizing monthly challenges around the school (commencing in second semester). These monthly challenges will coincide with Rainbow School’s ‘Go Green’ initiatives. Their first event is Sweater Day on February 7th. Sweater Day is intended to raise awareness about renewable energy and change behaviour around energy consumption, as Rainbow District School Board ‘turns down the heat’ in all schools for the day. Stay tuned for more environmentally friendly information in the coming weeks!
