Location• St. Peter’s Church graveyard to fit with the

stereotypical scary atmosphere of the scene after dark. Creates a sense of tension and fear in the audience.

• Inside a house, a small bedroom to create a sense of and cramped conditions and unkemptness. This location supported by props reinforces the perception of Ed’s character.

• Hall, as it offers a location with a complete black background to emphasis the light, on film, created by the ignited lighter and side on lighting. The shadows across Ed’s face connotes a potentially schizophrenic personality and the stereotypes which accompany this perception

Props• Polaroid style photos strewn across a table and for use in other scenes such as

the burning of a photo and cutting up another. These are used to create a sense of voyeurism, obsessiveness and stalker-ism in terms of Ed’s character towards Alice.

• Sugar to look like cocaine, to reinforce the presentation of Ed’s character as a psychopathic manic. This prop plays on the stereotypical view of the socially unacceptable use of drugs and who they are stereotypically associated with.

• Scissors to cut up a photo of Ed and Alice, representing their separation and the destructive nature of the scene in addition to the burning of another photo reinforces Ed’s character.

• A chair for Ed to sit on,• Beer cans to portray Ed’s character as an alcoholic in addition to his drugs

addition and reinforce his socially undesirable nature.• Low black table for the photos and other props to be positioned on.• Cigarettes and ash tray to add to the character portrayal of Ed being a smoker,

alcoholic and drug taker leading the audience to feel anxious for Alice and disliking towards ed.

• Lighter to light the photos and enforce his infatuation with danger as a pyromaniac in addition to the further negative portrayal concerning his drunken and drugged up state.

• White table to hold further props such as beer cans.

Lighting

• High movement censored lights on Church to be activated when Alice walks past.

• Cross lighting to create shadows and contrast across Ed’s face; reinforcing his representation as a psychopath.

Characters

• Charlotte Thistle as Alice dressed in casual light blue jeans, blue hoody and grey shoes. She is portrayed as innocent.

• Alan Skelly as Ed dressed in dark jeans, black shoes and a black hoody with the hood up connotes a negative dangerous personality, reinforcing the stereotypical view of people wearing their hood up to conceal their identity.
