Liverpool is an ideal size for young language learners. It is compact, safe and easy to get around. There is also lots to see and do here. The city is famous for its history, architecture, sport, music and friendly people. Our waterfront is a UNESCO world heritage site. We have many beautiful parks and more museums and galleries than any UK city outside London.
Liverpool is rich in history, culture and tradition yet it is also modern and vibrant. The city is alive with innovation and creativity. This inspiring combination is perfect for learning, enjoying new experiences and having great fun.

With City of Liverpool College we are able to offer excellent educational and recreational facilities in the city for our students across 2 sites at The Learning Exchange (LEX) and Duke Street. Our students, staff and group leaders very much enjoy the facilities here.
Both colleges are large, bright and spacious. They are modern purpose-built
colleges specifically designed to provide a stimulating learning experience
for young people.
Both colleges are less than a 10 minute walk from our Liverpool
School of English main building in an excellent location for groups
of young learners. We are just a short walk from the city’s busier
shopping areas as well as the museums and tourist attractions.

Welfare
Our rules for school and for accommodation are very clear and are carefully designed to ensure the safety and comfort of our students. During students’ first day induction our code of conduct and information on safety and welfare is presented clearly and carefully. All students are provided with a summer school handbook so they know what behaviour is expected from them both inside and outside of school. Our summer school induction and handbook also ensure students and group leaders know what to expect in terms of accommodation and welfare support from our staff.
• We have a dedicated welfare officer and summer centre manager available to help with any problems that our students may have.
• Our group leaders meet with our summer school management team every day to make sure that each and every student is safe and well. They discuss all aspects of the programme – welfare, accommodation, meals, learning, excursions and activities - to ensure any issues are identified and resolved as quickly as possible.
• There is an allocated homeroom in the college so that our students can meet with their group leader before school, afternoon excursions and evening activities.
• Our live-in staff in residences provide welfare support for students out of regular school hours.
• All of our students have a personal ID card with emergency contact information.
• A 24-hour emergency contact number is provided for students and group leaders.
• We require all students to have insurance to ensure their financial and personal security. ETOs / Group Leaders are required provide us with policy details for each student.
• All of our staff, including externally hired staff such as coach drivers, must provide references before we hire them and they are fully checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Meals Our summer school programme is busy and active. Our students need good quality food which is healthy and varied. We work closely with the catering team to ensure we provide nutritious meals for our students, group leaders and staff.
On weekdays with lessons, students in residence have breakfast, hot lunch and dinner at the colleges. On weekends and full excursion days, packed breakfasts and lunches are provided with an evening meal either at the colleges or in a restaurant.
Homestay hosts provide breakfast every day for their students. On weekdays with lessons, hot lunch is provided at the colleges. On excursion days, hosts provide packed lunch. Most evening meals are taken with the homestay hosts. When homestay students have a long excursion day or an evening activity, we provide an evening meal either at the college or in a restaurant.
It is our first priority to ensure our students and group leaders are safe, happy and comfortable while with us at Liverpool School of English. We understand that high quality accommodation and welfare support is the most important aspect of any summer school programme.
The accommodationis very safe and we can
play there in the common areas. I’ve made lot of new friends from Italy
and Brazil.

All rooms are single and ensuite.
Flats will have up to 10 en-suite bedrooms and a shared lounge/kitchen area.
• Each bedroom has: a lockable door, a bed, a study desk, a chest of drawers or wardrobe, an en-suite bathroom with shower.
• Clean linen is provided weekly and there are on site laundry facilities.
• There is free Wi-Fi in the building.

. Homestay Accommodation Ages 12-18 years Homestay Accommodation is suitable for those who want to experience life in a British home. We have welcoming, friendly and helpful hosts who love living with international students. Our experienced accommodation team work closely with our hosts to ensure that our junior students are well taken care of and feel at home.
Hosts do not live in the city centre. Students will travel between 20-40 minutes on public transport to get to the colleges (a direct journey of one bus or one train). Homestay rooms maybe single or shared. For safeguarding reasons, students aged under 16 need to apply for homestay in pairs and where students are particularly young (12-13 years old) they should be paired with an older student.
