Little island.Big welcome.
What is the Visit Safe Charter?Tourism is part of our island’s DNA and we want to help our industry thrive again.
The Visit Safe Charter is designed to instil confidence in islanders and visitors to
explore #theislandbreak safe in the knowledge that there are robust measures in
place.
Four key goals:
• Provide Jersey’s tourism and hospitality industry with a united approach that
effectively addresses risk from Covid-19 and mitigates its present and future impact to the visitor economy.
• Give islanders and visitors confidence that they can enjoy #theislandbreak safe in
the knowledge that robust measures and protocols are in place to combat Covid-19.
• Provide a seal of approval for businesses that adhere to the Visit Safe guidelines.
The Visit Safe logo will help to instil consumer confidence and kickstart the visitor
economy.
• We are stronger as one and with a united approach to marketing the Visit Safe Charter we will have a greater impact.
To communicate the Visit Safe Charter effectively, we will take a cross-
channel approach, so that checking before visiting becomes the ‘new norm’
for everybody.
Working in partnership with the Government of Jersey and the Jersey Hospitality Association, the Visit Safe Charter will instil consumer
confidence. Businesses displaying the logo will signal to visitors that
businesses have taken a number of steps in line with government guidance
to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
We need you
Stronger as One.Visit Safe
Research shows that many UK residents are feeling nervous about
travelling again. The Visit Safe Charter aims to provide additional
reassurance for visitors as a sign that a specific business has made
the required adaptations in readiness for welcoming visitors.
The Association of Leading Visitor Attractions (ALVA) has found that
a safety accreditation can have a much-needed, major positive
impact upon visitor confidence.

Consider how your channels include supporting information. If you are signposting consumers to your website then ensure your website is updated with relevant details to enable visitors to get the information they need before they travel. For example, do they need to pre-book tickets or can they just turn up? Have your opening hours changed? Are you serving food and drink? Do your customers need to wear a face mask?
