Speedtest.net speed network test results. https://reader009.{domain}/reader009/html5/0501/5ae7839269d3a/5ae78394c8
a) I currently have a Cable connection with a local carrier (Time Warner). The service has theadditional turbo which provides download speeds of up to 10 Mbps. Without this service thedownload is only 1.5 Mbps.
b) I used www.speakeasy.net for the testc) I was able to verify my current Internet speed connectiond) The second test was carried out with www.speedtest.net e) I received very similar results with only about 5% difference. This may be due to the server
proximity.
Command Line Exercise:
a) My computer’s IP address is 192.168.1.100 b) The wireless adapter’s address is: 00 -25-9C-F9-04-1Ac) Default router: 192.168.1.1d) DHCP server: 192.168.1.1e) The IP obtained has a 48 hour lease period. I’ve set my computer’s IP as reserved so I
always get the same IP. By doing this I can access my machine remotely from outside usingwww.DynDns.org service.
f) The starting time of the lease is Sunday, March 18 2012 9:15:09 AM and the ending time ison Tuesday March 20 2012 9:15:16 AM

Ping and Tracert Exercises:
5) Ping Google.com. The average latency is 96ms.
6) Ping 127.0.0.1 (loopback address).
7) Tracert google.com
7b) There were 14 hops between my workstation and Google.com’s server farm.
8) The ping utility provided a single point of reference that a remote host is online. On the other hand, tracert provides a more thorough information about a 32 bit packet sent from the Host A to Host Bwhich includes information about each router in between. Whereas PING goes directly to Host B,tracert lists all potential bottlenecks in between.

10 b) The RFC states the use of birds to transmit data packets over metropolitan areas. This is anexperimental communication standard, not yet recommended for deployment. It makes use of airspace offering a low collision on a 3 dimensional spectrum, rather than the unidirectional standard of current telecommunication pathways.
10 c) The main sections of this RFC are the following:
Header fields: This information includes the publisher/requested, date, RFC number
Title of RFC: This is the official title assigned to the RFC; similar to a journal publication
Current status: From the data shown on the header field, this section lists the status of the RFC
Frame format: This area discusses the telecommunication design, or methods of experimentation
Discussion: This area provides information about the RFC and background information as well tocomplement the experiment.
Security information: This areas discusses any potential security risk or vulnerability when implementingsuch protocol or standard (upon approval).

Well, they actually found out because one of themdied in midair and landed near a corrections officer. Sorry, one of the articles I found is in Spanish, butyou can see the pictures
