LanguageIn relation to media language, you are able to see that there is quite a strong meaning behind everything that has been presented on the digi-pack and album poster. Firstly, the use of the dark colours presents that this album could be quite serious and has a lot of strong and meaningful songs that will be featured on the album, but also it expresses that it is perhaps from a darker and rocker genre which is why it conforms to the Pop Punk genre. Although these texts have strong and meaningful connotations, the use of the swirls and the rough white patches express the singers more feminine side which enables the album to appeal to a lot more women as well as men as this genre is often associated with a lot of men. Moreover, the use of the fonts again present the singers feminine side as the use of the swirls and fonts themselves aren’t very sharp or rough which presents that the artist herself could be quite delicate and innocent with contrasts with the type of genre she is working with, but again corresponds and creates continuity with the music video. The images that have been used also present the singers innocence as in the main image on the front cover she isn’t looking at the camera which may present she is afraid to trust people anymore and wants to hide, but as the audience open up the digi-pack they will see her directly addressing them which means she is now opening up more to the audience as her feelings have been presented in her music. Overall, there is quite a strong and serious meaning that can be understood from this digi-pack and album poster as it expresses the artists mood quite strongly.

Institution and IdeologyJust like the music video, my artist is signed to the independent record label ‘Hopeless Records’ which was founded in 1993 – however, one day she could end up changing the record label depending on how her career goes. In relation to ideology, we are able to see that the main values and beliefs of these texts are that the idea of being in dark woods presents a dark tone and perhaps informs the audience that the artist is in a deep and dark state and may be going through a lot. The use of the woods presents how people can get lost and feel lonely, so this digi-pack and poster highlight that the artist is perhaps confused and lost in what she should be doing with her life or maybe even something more specific.

AudienceThe audience for these two texts will essentially just be the same audience that I stated when I was doing the LIIAR analysis for the music video. Again, in relation to a broader audience, these texts would generally appeal to people who like Pop Punk music – however, to be more specific, people between the ages of 15-25 are probably the most likely to purchase this album due to the fact that again people at this age will be able to relate to a lot of the things that the artist is going through. As I said earlier, Pop Punk is generally associated with the male gender, which means my artist would have more male fans – however, I have added feminine features to the album which makes it more interesting and appealing to the female gender, so hopefully my artist will appeal to both the male and female gender. Although the texts are aimed mainly at people that like the Pop Punk genre, I think people who like dark and meaningful things will be attracted to this digi-pack and album poster and will want to look at it in more detail, so again hopefully my artist will gain a larger mass audience due to this.

RepresentationThese two texts could represent many different things, but as said before, I think the majority of people will believe that they represent how the artist is lost and trapped in life and is confused about what to do. Again, the use of the dark colours and sad poses presents that she may not be in the right place and wants to figure things out and she is able to do that by being alone in the forest. This is only one of the ways that this digi-pack and album poster could be represented – however, everyone has their own perspective on everything and different audiences may think that these texts have different meanings and can be represented in different ways, but this will be left to the audience themselves to figure out as this is what enables the audience to be creative and figure out the meaning of the album in their own minds.
