RENFREWSHIRE SPORT

A WAY OF LIFE

Foreword

Our vision for sport has been created by working together with partners from the sporting community and aims to benefit both present and future generations.

Renfrewshire understands the vital contribution that participation in sport makes to improving people’s quality of life. Amidst the challenging economic, environmental and social issues facing us, we recognise that regular participation in sport offers a unique opportunity to enhance the lives of individuals and communities. Sport can improve health and wellbeing, help to create stronger and safer communities, contribute to improving education and benefit the economy - not to mention it can be great fun.

Never before has the profile of sport been higher with so many major sporting events on home soil. These events have captured

people’s imagination and enthusiasm for participating in the world of sport and all the opportunities that it brings.

Renfrewshire Sport – An Ambitious Vision for All clearly outlines the priorities and outcomes that will encourage increased participation in sport as a way of life.

The development of sustainable sporting opportunities, delivered in quality facilities and achieving our aspiration of increased participation in sport will be dependent on continued and improved partnership working.

With your commitment we look forward to seeing more people, more active in more places, more often.
