General Tips for Finding Journal Articles

Use the Advanced Search mode when possible to combine two or more terms in separate boxes.

Check out subject tracings of articles that are on target to find additional search terms.

Truncate terms by using the asterisk (*) symbol to get all variations in spelling.

Use Find It buttons to access full text not visible on screen.

Use Interlibrary loan to request electronic copies of articles that are not owned here at Cook Library.

Read Full text at – click directly on the hypertext link to another database which will provide the electronic version of the article

Check availability Towson’s Cook Library – TU most likely owns a print subscription to this journal - open this link to see that catalog record and verify that the year you need is included in our subscription

Not available online – there is no electronic copy available

Check availability University of Maryland library – a USMAI library owns title –you can either visit that library to get a copy or request a copy of the article through Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)

Request it through Interlibrary Loan – click on this link to fill out the form for an Article Copy Request
