Part - A (Analyzing human dimension and proportion) Task-1 Study and understanding of human dimension, proportion of the individual body parts with respect to each other as well as the whole. Possible human postures and movements related with various activities from available International standards and Indian context. Mode of Submission: Presentation of possible body movements and activities through plan and elevations in a scale of 1:10. All the study shall be based on International standard (Time saver standard). All the study shall be based on Indian standard. To work out Indian standard, student will select one male and one female model among themselves. (With average height of male and female) and convert all the dimension and measurements to make Indian Standard. Study of dwellings to understand humanactivities and their relationship with oneanother Field studiesof a small vernacularsettlementinthevicinitycomprisingof10-12 small dwelling units to understandhuman activities, their relationship withone another and the resultant space theyoccupy. Preference to be given a singledwelling units to understand how peopleactually inhabit mono cellular space andalso to demonstrate areas for circulationandstorageifnecessary.

Study to understand the change in use ofspaces from timeof theday to seasonsofthemonththroughuseoflimitedfixedandmovable furniture items. Study to alsoinclude understanding of relationshipbetween dwelling units in thesettlement/cluster and use of communityfacilities.

Preamble

The basic intent of this study is tounderstand the basis of optimum spacerequirement of a dwelling unit withrespecttotheirlivingstyleandlivelyhood.The study also intended to understandfunctional spaces requirements to sufficetheneedof the familymemberalongwiththeir occupation during the harsh climaticconditions of summer, winter and rainyseason.
