1) Pick the first 3 notes in each example with a single downstrokeusing the fingering: 1, 2, 1.

2) Hammer-on the the high E (Fret 12, first string) with the 4thfinger.

3) Pull-off the High E after the hammer-on to the C with the samefingering used on the way up in an descending fashion.

1) Apply the same principles as example 1 and 2.

2) Use legato for descending part of the lick. In other words, do nottry to sweep downward. Sweep the first 3 notes only.

3) Use a metronome and practice in groupings of 6 like this example.
