• Was originally a school teacher but turned in to “the Father of Comics”
• First published Histoire de M. Vieux Bois

• Histoire de M. Vieux Bois was published in the United States as The Adventures of Mr. Obadiah Oldbuck, and was the first American Comic Book
• Series of French Comic Books written by René Goscinny
• Has been made in to 11 films• Theme park in Paris named

• First appeared in Pilote, a french magazine, October 29, 1959
