Theprogrammeshavebeendevelopedinthemulti-agencycontext.Theyaresuitedtopeoplewhosupportchildrenandfamiliesinawiderangeofintegratedservicesincludingsocial,healthcare,education,voluntary,probation,charity,youngoffender,
earlyyears,childcareandyouthservices.
Afoundationdegreecanbecompletedin2years,oneafternoonperweek.HigherLevelTeachingAssistant(HLTA)preparationisanoptionmodule.A“top-up”programmecanleadtoaBAdegree.The“top-up”canbecompletedinoneyearfull-time(onedayperweek)ortwoyearspart-time(halfadayperweek).Singlemodulescanalsobeaccessedasaccreditedornon-accreditedCPD.
EligiblecandidatesmayprogresstoQTSorEYTSprogrammes.
Foundation degrees are work-related, higher education qualifications that have been designed to enhance and broaden your professional knowledge and give you the opportunities to develop, progress and gain recognition of skills in a formal qualification.

The annual tuition fee for foundation degree courses will be £5,000 for Home/EU students for the academic year 2015/16.

About Foundation Degree Teaching

Our foundation degrees have one entry point in September. Individual modules may be accessed at any time. The foundation degree programmes have full time weighting (240 credits) but part-time attendance. Programmes run at the following times: First year (Level 4) Monday afternoons - 1:30pm - 7:00pm Second year (Level 5) Tuesday afternoons - 1:30pm - 7:00pm School term time only.

StudentswillbeabletoapplyforatuitionfeeloanfromStudentFinanceEnglandtocoverthecostoftheirtuitioneveryyear,sotheydonothavetopaytheirtuitionfeesupfront.
Studentswillalsobeabletoapplyforapackageofmaintenancefunding(tohelppaytowardsbasiclivingcostswhiletheyarestudyingsuchasaccommodation,food,travel,coursecostsetc).
Theamountofmaintenancefundingyoureceivedependsonyourhouseholdincome,whereyouliveandwhereyoustudy.Thefundingpackageincludes:• aloanofupto£5,740(orupto£4,565 forstudentswholivewiththeirparents).• anon-repayablegrantof£3,387ifthe householdincomeis£25,000orless,ora partialgrantofbetween£50and£3,387 ifthehouseholdincomeisbetween £25,000and£42,620.
LeedsTrinityUniversitytuitionfeesforfoundationdegreesare£5,000in2015/16.
Studentswillnotbeaskedtorepayanyoftheloansuntiltheyhavegraduated/leftthecourseandareearningover£21,000ayear.Repaymentswillbe9%ofearnings(abovethethreshold).Formoreinformationonrepayments,interestratesandincomethresholdspleasevisitwww.direct.gov.uk/student-finance

Most foundation degree courses are classed as full-time courses as you study 120 credits each academic year. Foundation degree students are therefore eligible to apply for the full-time package of student finance.

Eligible students will not have to pay up front for their tuition. The cost of tuition will be paid by a loan which students will only start to repay once they have left their course and are earning over £21,000 a year.

LeedsTrinityUniversityhasbeenaproviderofpreparationforHLTAstatussince2004andhasadedicatedandhighlyskilledteamofHLTAtutors.
HLTApreparationisalsoofferedseparatelyfromthefoundationdegreeprogrammes,usuallyinexternalvenuesaroundWestandNorthYorkshire.ExistingHLTAstatuscanbeaccreditedtowardsaFoundationDegree.

It is an ideal preparation for potential leadership of an Early Years setting or progression to Early Years Teacher Status programmes.
Professional Practice: EducationThis work-based learning ‘top-up’ programme to BA(Hons) is designed to follow completion of an education-related foundation degree. It is ideal preparation for those who wish to take on more responsibility in their educational setting or train to be teachers.
Professional Practice: Supporting young People, Children and Families This work-based learning ‘top-up’ programme to BA(Hons) is designed to follow completion of a related foundation degree. This general course is an ideal preparation for a range of roles and responsibilities within integrated or extended children’s services.
