Trinity
has a dynamic, creative
and successful Sixth Form. Housed
in the Carliol Building, the Sixth Form Centre
provides an ideal learning environment for young
adults. The Sixth Form is a separate area and operates like a
college within a school.
With around 350 students, Trinity Sixth Form is one of the largest
school sixth forms in Cumbria attracting many students from other
local schools and even further aeld, and is a tribute to the excellent work
being done by both students and sta.
We currently offer students a choice of over 35A Level and Level 3 BTEC
courses, both academic and vocational. We provide a great deal of support
through our Pathways system to ensure that students are on courses which
are appropriate to their abilities and ambitions.
Whether you are currently at Trinity School or considering joining us from
elsewhere, we hope that you will nd opportunities that are right for you
with us.
Welcome...

Building on your
SuccessfulWe are proud that students achieve highly at
Trinity Sixth Form and that over 76% of students
go on to the university of their choice, 26% of which
were top Russell Group universities in 2014. Our well
qualied and experienced sta know how to support
and guide students through the post 16 education
process and OfSTED described pastoral care
as exemplary.

SupportEach student belongs to a tutor group of about 20-25
students. Form tutors work with each student individually to
support their learning and monitor progress by having regular
mentoring sessions. Each tutor group is supported by a Student
Manager, who is responsible for overseeing this process.
As young adults, Sixth Form students need to be given the chance to take on
more responsibility for their learning. At the same time, we recognise that the
transition to independence is not an easy one and therefore, we provide clear
guidance about our expectations of behaviours, study habits and attendance.

at Trinity School. Both of these subjectscontribute strongly towards the career path I
have chosen, primary teaching. This is
something I have wanted to do since the age
of four and with the great support from Trinity
School I am finally going to be
able to achieve this.
Following a successful interview I am going to
be attending Liverpool Hope University in
September and although I am going to miss
Trinity I know that from them I have gained
very important life skills."

"People always debate over the
importance of school. But in my

opinion I believe that education is what sets you forlife. I am currently studying IT, business, and mediawhich are all BT ECs . In my first year I acquired thegrades of three distinctions*. I felt that I chose theright subjects in terms of academic value and how
enjoyable they are.
Trinity has helped me achieve my full potential.Their support is incomparable and has made me into
the person I am today."
The environment of the sixth form makes it
really easy to talk to teachers and to get extra
help. The sixth form has provided mewith a lot of opportunities and a lot
of memories."

Veterinary Medicine. Trinity has helped me
towards this goal by providing excellent
facilities with great support.
Despite studying very traditional subjects, there was a
wide range of courses to choose from at A-level should
I have wanted to. As well as great opportunities within
the classroom, I have taken part in the Uganda project,Duke of Edinburgh and drama e xtracurricular sessions
which have given me opportunities
to develop real world skills "
